After a very quick shower I change into a white top and skinny jeans. I still have half an hour left to go to school. It takes 15 minutes by bus to reach school. If I eat breakfast in 10 minutes and reach the bus stop in 5 minutes...I'd reach the school right when the bell rings, but it's not like I'd be spending 10 minutes just eating breakfast so I think I'm good to go. I really need to wake up early on school days.

I quickly run downstairs to tell mom that the Cortez brothers will be joining us for breakfast.

I'd be lying if I said that I'm not scared of her, scared because she'll kill me for asking her to make breakfast for her favourite two boys on such short notice considering the fact that this is their first time having breakfast with us in a very long time and that she wanted to make something special for them.

I see her flipping pancakes. My mom is the morning person no one asked her to be but I'm not complaining because it definitely has its pros. She makes breakfast on school days and I'm really glad cuz I mean c'mon! how am I suppose to wake up so early and make breakfast then eat it then walk to the bus stop and then wait 15 minutes only to be dropped at a living hell–school.

I tiptoe towards her and hug her from behind trapping her in my embrace so that she couldn't beat me even if she wanted to. My mom and I are literally each other's best friend but she wouldn't hesitate to beat the heck out of me.

Le sigh.

"GOODMORNING MOM I LOVE YOU!" I literally shout at her.

"Is this your way of telling me that the Cortez boys are coming over for breakfast?" And then my mind decides to go blank. Did she develop a super hearing ability or something??

"Umm woman how do you know?" I ask my mom, my chin resting on her shoulder.

"I heard you guys talking-" omg so she did develop a super hearing ability. "-when I came to wake you up."

Oh....I was actually happy for a second. We could've used her ability to listen on people's secret and then blackmail them later...not.

I set the plates on the dining table "Why would you tell them I asked them to have breakfast with us even though I never did?" She asks as she flips yet another pancake.

I didn't invite the whole neighborhood..

"I just didn't want them to starve to death that's all." I say in a bored tone to make it sound like I don't care. But I do and that's been bothering me a lot.

"Huh..your behaviour towards brian last night tells me otherwise." Oh holy floor of our kitchen please swallow me, please swallow me right now because I don't want to have this conversation.

And suddenly the doorbell rings. I owe you holy floor. I get up to open the door. I honestly didn't wanted to invite them for breakfast but I guess my kindness got the best of me.

Before I could open the door I hear two voices arguing in hushed tones. Why did I invite them again?

Not wanting to hear their bullshit, I open the door and guess what do I see? Brian's hand is pulling on Dylan's collar and Dylan's hand is on Brian's cheek pushing his face in the opposite direction.

They slowly turn their heads towards me and they freeze upon seeing me. The three of us stand there in an awkward silence for what felt like atleast a minute. They didn't even try to compose themselves back into their original position.
.
.
.
"You guys wanna come inside?" I ask them.

"Yeah!" Both of them say in unison and get inside before I could even get out of the way. Well aren't these guys a sight to see in the morning!

Le pain.
