As the group rested in Thailog's hideout, Pyrrha pondered on what was to come. It seemed that both escape and survival was in sight. She then looked to the Hound who was sharpening his sword.
Pyrrha: Sandor? Can I ask you something?
The Hound: What is it, Little Bird?
Pyrrha: Do you believe in desiny?
Upon hearing that question, the Hound chuckled as he stopped sharpening his sword.
The Hound: Not really. The whole idea of destiny is just a bunch of shite that powerful fuckers use for their own benefit.
Upon hearing the Hound's answer, Pyrrha was taken aback by this. She had always believed that she was destined for a greater purpose.
Pyrrha: Do you really believe that?
The Hound: I've seen it happen many times, Little Bird. I've seen thousands of destines. They all usually end up with a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood. The only destiny we all have is that we live and die.
Pyrrha: But don't you think some people are destined for a greater purpose?
The Hound chuckled at this. He had seen this play out in the War of the Five Kings. All had claimed that they were destined for the Iron Throne, but all ended up dead in one way or another.
The Hound: Unlikely. The world would be better off without shite like destiny, though I doubt it would really make much of a difference.
As the Hound said that, both he and Pyrrha heard the sound of joyful humming. They turned to see that it was Hidan with a smile on his face.
The Hound: Can you shut the fuck up back there? You're giving me a goddamn headache!
Hidan: I was just thinking about what I'm going to do when I finally get off this fucking rock!
Pyrrha: What would that be?
Hidan: I'm gonna find me a nice big village full of people! When I do, I'm gonna go on a fucking killing spree! I'm gonna kill them all and spread the word of Lord Jashin!
Pyrrha was disgusted and horrified by what she had heard. She knew Hidan was a psychopath, but to hear him talk about mass murder with a smile on his face deeply disturbed her.
Hidan: I heard you two talking about destiny. The only destiny I believe in is the Way of Jashin! My destiny is to spread the word of Jashin to all who cross my path!
As Hidan stated his lifelong mission, Pyrrha was deeply disturbed. She thought about leaving him in this planet because it seemed like Hidan was too dangerous to be taken to any civilized world. As Hidan began chuckling, the rest of the group joined in.
Dark Ace: What are you three on about?
Hidan: Oh we were just talking about what were gonna go when we get back to our homes!
Cormac: Something tells me that I don't want to know what you plan on doing, you mad bastard.
The Hound: I certainly wish I didn't fucking know.
Pyrrha: Cormac, there's not much I know about you. We were talking about destiny. I wanted to know your thoughts on it.
When Pyrrha asked her question, Cormac was silent for a moment. It was a different reaction as opposed to the Hound or Hidan.
Cormac: Life's hardest choices are the ones that make you question your own moral code. I've been on that rode as long as I can remember. I turned on those I once called brothers. Now I stand here next to certain death. Destiny is an odd thing. Sometimes it brings good fortune. But for the most part, it brings nothing but pain and misery.
Cormac's words silenced the room. He had experienced hardship during his transition from Assassin to Templar. During that transition, he had killed many of his former comrades. But Cad Bane soon chuckled.
Cad Bane: Never been one for destiny. The only thing I believe is getting paid.
Pyrrha: Is money really all you care about?
Cad Bane: Money is the only thing you can really rely on. If you pay me well enough, I couldn't care less what destiny you believe in. As long as I get paid, nothing else really matters.
The Hound: You sound like every Sellsword I've met.
Hidan: Typical fucking greed! Lord Jashin looks down upon greed!
Cad Bane: And yet he seems to praise murder? I may be a Bounty Hunter, but I built up quite the body count across the Galaxy. More than you.
Hidan: Ha! Don't fool yourself! Jashin praises killings in his name! You do it for money! Jashin spits at you!
Cad Bane: As if I give a damn about your God.
Dark Ace soon grew annoyed at this talk of destiny. He soon turned his attention to Pyrrha.
Dark Ace: Talk about destiny all you want, girl. My only concern is the Cyclonian Empire and of Master Cyclonis. My purpose is to serve Master Cyclonis and deliver her all of Atmos. If that is my destiny, so be it. But if it's someone else's destiny to stop that, then I will see that destiny unfulfilled.
Pyrrha took note of Dark Ace's response. She soon found one redeeming quality to him: loyalty. It reminded her too much of Cinder. That comparison made Pyrrha distrust Dark Ace even more.
Dark Ace: We should rest. It's going to be a long journey to their camp. We need o be fast to avoid them.
At that moment, the group began resting. As Pyrrha drifted off to sleep, her thoughts fell on Jaune Arc.
Pyrrha: (Jaune.....I'll come back. I promise....)
Pyrrha soon fell to sleep. Little did the group know that Thailog began moving against them.
