Weeks Later

Melanie woke up to the smell of bacon. Smiling she knew her mom was home and possibly her dad. She quickly went to go shower and get ready for school. Afterward, she walked into the kitchen happily. "Hey mommy," She squealed.

"Hey my baby how are you?", she asked her daughter sitting a plate in front of her.

"I'm good but the question is how are you I know you must be tired," she replied. She was taking overnights at the hospital. Melanie never really understood why she did that when her father made plenty of money to provide for herself and her mom, but her mom just simply liked to make her own money just because she was married to a rich man. Didn't mean she was going to stop her career either.

Her mom smiled at her as replied. "I'm great in fact your dad is supposed to be home around five and when he's settled he's taking me to dinner."

She seemed so excited. "Awww well I'm happy for you guys," Melanie said. She couldn't wait to feel this way about a man one day she thought.

After eating she said goodbye to her mom and left off to school before driving. She replied to Dave's good morning text he had sent her. They had been texting every since the last time they linked. Things were going really well, she liked him a lot.

She was really beginning to like him and notice how funny he was. She learned a few more things about him learning his favorite color was blue and his birthday was June 3rd. She even learned he was from Harlem New York. Which was different since she was from Tennessee.

She liked how he was different from the boys at her school. He was a grown-ass man and not one of those little boys at her school. Who instantly left her interest as soon as she met them. She couldn't wait to turn 18 in just a few weeks.

After parking her car she quickly made her way to her first block.

"Melllly" she heard Jerod call to her.

She sighed. Be nice. She thought.

"Hey," she simply smiled.

"Why you always doing me like that?" He asked her.

"What have I done?"

She was replying to Dave's message he asked her to hang out after she got out of school.

"That! I'm trying to have a conversation with you and you texting instead of giving me your full attention," he slightly snapped.

She furrowed her eyebrows kind of taken back.

"Ummm sir first of all relax. I'm texting someone something important and not to be rude I don't like you like that," she told him truthfully.

"I'm really sorry bu-

"Noooo you good but I mean we COULD be friends," he suggested.

She smiled small and replied with a quick. "Okay, that's cool."

"Daaaave stop," she said as he kept recording her on her snap. He managed to upload the story with the caption "sToooOp"💀

She reached for her phone but he switched it to his other hand. She began to poke his sides trying to make him laugh. "Ayooo chill unless it's static if it's static we can handle it?" He playful said as he slapped the phone in the palm of his hand.

"What's up?" She said squaring up.

He playfully tackled her on the guest bed as he punched her softly. She pulled his hair. And he began to fake moan. She quickly stopped and gasped. "Dave!" She said as he looked up at her. "What? That's my turn on" he said laughing with her.
