chapter 5

(A/N: hi everyone sorry I've been gone for so long, but I was working on the chapter of another story which is finally done. Just to give you a heads up this chapter will have 1 or 2 time skips. Enjoy.)

It's been only a few days since Karla and Drake decided to adopt Y/n and be the proud parents of a human baby, but haven't gotten the adoption papers yet. Right now they were at the lab working on some new chemicals, while Y/n was in the computer room on a baby rocker with Ashley, who was on her knees. She was admiring the most adorable and giggly creature that she has ever witnessed in all her life. Y/n stared at her, but his attention went to something wiggling behind her and she looked back and noticed he was interested in her tail.

"Does the little baby like my tail?" She moved so her tail can reach him

Y/n was now very entertained for he started laughing when Ashley, brushed him with his tail.

At the chemical room, Karla was hearing everything from the baby monitor and thought it was precious for hearing her soon to be son laugh because of Ashley. Karla continued her work, for she was determined in bringing back more humans so they can see the new world. She mixed a few more chemicals in vials so she could recreate the one she used to bring back Y/n and then put the vials in the centrifuge and let them spin for 3 minutes. While she waited she went to see what Drake was doing and she saw him working on a microscope, but he had a look of concern.

"Is everything ok, Drake?" She asks

"Actually, I think found something related to your chemicals." He replied

"Really? What?" She asks in both

Drake connected the microscope to the computer and showed, Karla what he was working on. On the screen showed DNA particles, but it wasn't any DNA she has seen before. It had regular looking DNA and some parts were orange.

"This is Y/n's DNA now."

"What am I looking at exactly?" She asks sounding a bit concerned

"Well those regular parts that you see are Y/n's regular DNA, but those orange parts are from your chemicals that you used to bring him back." He explained and leaned back on the desk

"But how did the chemical get attached to his DNA?" She asks

"I don't know, but the virus that was used to create us destroyed some parts of the human DNA particles and then killed them from the inside. I've heard that they died in a matter of minutes. So if Y/n was brought back with his DNA like that then..." he paused and let out a loud exhale

"then what?" she asks

"We would've brought a dead infant if it wasn't for your chemicals and all that waiting would've been for nothing."

"Wow so in a way I brought and you saved the life of our child." She said in astonishment

"You can put it like that." He said and hugged her

(Time skip) (a few days later)

The happiest and nerve-wracking day came. The day where both Drake and Karla arrived at the adoption agency to finally adopt Y/n, but they had to put a blanket over him and dress casually so they didn't have to attract attention to themselves. When they entered the building they saw many desks with small cabinets next to them and they immediately went to where the shortest line was and lucky for them there was only one furry being attended. They waited for a few minutes until they were called.

"Next in line please." Said a female voice

They moved forward and were attended by a raccoon furry.
