chapter 2

All of humanity went extinct in a matter of days. Men, women and children died cause of the deadly experiment that went airborne because of the first Furry. The other Furries went to live their lives while watching humanity die in front of their very eyes and see the animals evolve. While the population was being replaced by The Furries, the ones that escaped went to spread the word of what they went through and how humans were evil. It took a lot of work for the animals to get adjusted to their new lives and bodies and soon they all started to repopulate the world with their own kind.

Year: 2619 (Great Basin Desert)

The earth now belonged to The Furries. Some of the humans corpses in the U.S.A were sent and burried in the Basin Desert, while others were burned and have their bones crushed until there was nothing but dust. But now in 300 years a few Furries have decided what it would be like to bring a few back to life with science.

The head scientists and researchers who are dragons, that go by the name: Karla and Drake Cloud, who are the ones who worked on every possibility in bringing a human or some humans back from the dead. Some Furries thought that it was crazy and complete nonsense as to bring a human back, but others were curious to find out how would a human react to the new world.

Now those few furries who agreed to help, Karla and Drake, in their dream were in the Basin Desert. They created machines that can withstand the sun to help dig while The Furries worked in the trailers. Drake was helping his lovely wife Karla, who was digging like crazy for fossils almost as if her life depended on it.

"Karla, calm down. We got plenty of time." Drake mentioned

"I can't calm down, Drake. We are standing in a human burial ground. Just imagine the possibilities of finding a corpse and bringing it back." Karla said in excitement

He watched her and was curious as to how she was so high spirited even under the blazing sun, but he got back to work and minded his own business. Karla continued to dig until she shoved the shovel hard into the ground and hit something. With all the excitement she dropped the shovel and started digging with her own fingers and Drake, quickly ran to her.

"You found something?" He asks

"Yeah, I think I found..." she gave a nice pull, but disappointment took over to what she found " a damn root."

"Come on, let's get you some water." He said while helping her up to her feet

They headed back to the campsite with Karla, feeling nothing but disappointed to only find a root and not even the smallest piece of bone found. When they entered the trailer they see their partner working on a map of the desert.

"Hey, Sarah, working hard?" Drake asks with a bit of humor

"Oh, no. I'm just working on the map of the Great Basin Desert for fun." She replied sarcastically

They both chuckled at Sarah's answer. Sarah, noticed Karla's disappointed face, and decided to sit on the small dinning table and talk to her like the best friend she is.

"No luck today?" She asks

"I found a plant root, I guess that's lucky if we all were trying to find a plant." She replied before releasing a depressed exhale

"Karla, it's going to be ok. We have 24 hours left before we have to go back home." Drake mentioned before handing her a bottle of water

"I know, but I just don't think that's enough time, I mean I should've just started digging the same spot where my feet touch the ground when we got here" she said before chugging down her bottle of water

At the moment of silence, the words that came out of Karla's mouth hit her in the head and she quickly ran out of the trailer.

"Karla!" Drake called
