Roman's Pov

Oh how I wish that I could murder that monster over and over again. He hurt Virgil. MY Virgil. 

                                         How dare he?

I looked down at the unconscious form in my arms, speeding my pace through the forest and away from the horrid castle when I realized how slowly his breaths were coming.

Tears streamed constantly down my cheeks, dripping onto Virgil's broken body. I had to get him back to the mind palace. To Logan. Logan could help him...right?

I tried to take deep breaths as the palace came into veiw. Virgil's breathing slowed to an almost nonexistent rate. I pushed myself harder to reach safety before it was to late.

Virgil

Please be okay

I lov-

I was cut from my sprint as I tripped over my own feet and rolled, dropping Virgil. 

I scrambled back up and to him as quickly as I could. 

I put my finger on his neck, feeling for a pulse.

Still there.

Faint, but still there.

I let out a sob of relief, holding his limp hand and startingto get up.

Wait...

Something's not right...

Virgil...

The realization hit me like a brick.

He's not breathing...

My eyes filled with renewed tears.

No 

Please

I love him

I leaned down and kissed him deeply, blowing my own air into his lungs.

I'm begging you

Don't take him away

I sat up and started to push on his chest, until I thought better of it.

He might have broken ribs.

I can't. It might hurt him more.

There was nothing I could do.

I kissed him again.
