Alarms screamed in my head to stop as I pried off the metal panel in my cell. The last time I tried anything like this, I lost privileges to utensils and got a good beating. I thought that the longer I worked that the alarms raging in my mind would turn off, but as hours passed they only seemed to get louder.

James stood guard while I worked, though there really wasn't anything for him to guard me from. There weren't any alarms connected to the panel or wiring in the walls, and if the guards caught us we would be as good as dead anyways.

The cell was designed to contain me, to dampen my abilities. They must have never planned on me getting through with my bare hands, but it was pretty easy with the help of a screw from the wristband they forgot to remove.

Part of me always wondered where they even learned how to dampen my abilities, but the more I thought about it, Hydra created Scarlet Witch and her brother Quick Silver with an infinity stone, and they would have needed a way to control them if they got out of hand.

As I worked, I came to the realization that if I disabled what dampened my abilities, then an alarm would go off since that could happen from something like a power outage and then I would be free. So instead of disabling it, I connected the wiring to the door so that when the door opens, what dampens my abilities would turn off. It meant we would have to deal with an alarm, and it wouldn't be easy to escape. But as of now, I can't think of a better way to escape without any help from the outside.

I finally finished working on rewiring everything at around 4 in the morning. I was exhausted from the lack of sleep, but the thought of seeing my family again today prevented me from falling asleep.

We knew that the guards would be coming in at 6 to execute James, and that's when our plan would kick into action. It seemed so much simpler than we knew it would be. So for the next two hours, we silently wondered if we would finally be getting out of here, or if these would be our last few hours alive.

It was only around 2 hours, though it felt like an eternity. But just like James promised, at 6:00am 3 giant guards in black came marching towards our cell. We both scrambled to our feet at the sight of them. One of the guards punched in a code at the door, then all three entered. Just as I'd hoped, when the door opened I felt the dampener lift, and energy came rushing through my veins. The alarm didn't go off immediately, but we both knew what was coming.

I watched as James turned around, allowing the guards to hold him while the third came from behind with a pair of hand cuffs, just as planned.

James snapped towards me in an instant, and before he even spoke I allowed my abilities to take over. "NOW ALICE!"

My hands, all the way up to my arms blazed in a blue fiery light. The guards only got a glimpse of me before I grabbed a giant metal desk from beyond the glass, and yanked it straight towards us. On contact, the glass cell completely shattered into a million pieces. Then just in time, James dove towards me to get out of the way of the desk that crashed straight into the dumb struck guards, knocking them all unconscious. As expected, a few seconds later a bright red light began flashing and a deafening alarm blared through the base.

"LET'S GO!" I yelled over my shoulder. James and I both sprinted out of the cell, ignoring the shattered glass that crunched beneath our feet. Without slowing down, James grabbed a riffle off of one of the unconscious guards.

We got about 20 feet before a guard jumped out of no where, a riffle pointed at my head. But before he could even think of firing it, I threw it out of his arms with my abilities. I grabbed his arm, twisting it then pulling it straight down with a loud snap. The guard screamed out in pain, then I hit him across the head hard enough that it knocked him out. Normally I wouldn't be so ruthless, but I wasn't willing to show mercy to the people who tortured me relentlessly for over a month and who have killed so many innocent people.
