Why Do Men Lie ?

"Look what the cats dragged in," Daniella teased as we bumped into each other on the way to the bathroom.

"I'll be down for breakfast in a minute" I laughed before we went our separate ways.

For the past few days our schedule started to clash and that's because she started a new job and I still had work plus Christopher on the side. We hardly see each other because we were constantly in and out to keep up with the activities our life came with. I did what I needed to in the bathroom then made my way downstairs.

"Looks like you've been getting some, that hickey is awfully red" she pointed out as I took a seat.

"It's nothing. How's the new job, do you like it?" I attempted to change the topic.

"Not so fast, one matter at a time. Tell me all about that hookup"

"Work has been super stressful, so my colleague and I went to get some drinks. Long story short I met a guy and we hooked up. It was horrible I really don't wanna get into the details"

"Oh honey, I'm sorry to hear that. You know if you really want a good time. I could hook you up with-

"That's fine, I'm kind of getting a kick of randomly meeting them, then doing it so I'll just stick with that but back to you" I smiled hoping she would finally give it up.

"Well, I think I'll be quitting it's really not for me but on the brighter side my boss and I have been kicking it" She winked.

"You had sex with him didn't you." I shook my head since I already knew the answer.

"Yea we did. Unfortunately it's the classic failing marriage but the children are keeping them together story"

"You aren't making it any better. You're being a home wrecker, I don't know what's wrong with you and these married men. You know they got a wife and you still go there"

"They know they gotta wife too, I don't owe any of them loyalty. I wasn't the one stood at the alter and vowed commitment, their man did. If he can't respect that, they why should I? Hearing that it's because it's the right thing to do is simply not enough for me" She stated.

"Two wrongs doesn't equal a right. That's all I'm saying"

"Nobody asked you that though" She smiled.

We ate the rest of food in silence since I didn't know what to say after what she came with. Talking to her on that topic was like talking to a wall. It made zero sense so I left it. I looked at the time realizing I was already running late so I needed to start getting ready now.

"Kim is starting to become a pain in my ass" Malika complained as she closed my office door.

"Tell me about it" I mumbled since my workload doubled since she got here, it's almost as if I was also doing her work. I felt as if I was being punished for no reason, I haven't done a thing to her.
