I was just laying in my bed staring at the ceiling. I had woken up an hour ago and I got read but now I'm just laying here. All of my friends had texted me wondering why I wasn't at school. I told them I was feeling sick and that my mom had let me take the whole day off. I mean I wasn't lying, I completely feel like poop. When I looked at myself in the mirror I saw a broken girl. The big circles underneath my eyes, the red and puffy eyes from crying. I had to put on makeup and eye drops to cover up the whole mess I am. The court case wasn't until another hour and I could finally hear my mom getting ready. My phone started ringing making me look away from the ceiling. I grabbed my phone checking the ID caller and it was Gina. I answered by putting on a fake smile even though she couldn't see me. "Hey, Gina." She answered with a 'ugh'.

"Don't Hey Gina me!" I was confused. I don't remember ever doing anything bad to her. "You told everyone you were sick? God they are all such idiots! You never get sick Brina." Rolling my eyes I knew she could see right through me. "What's going on with you?" A small sob left my mouth. "There is so much going on right now and I feel like I can't breathe!" I grab my laptop and facetime her instead. "Talk to me. I'm right here." I smile at her feeling my eyes water. "My dad wants full custody of me. Which means I would have to move with him and leave everything I love." Holding back the tears trying not to cry I look at the ground with a pout on my face. "When is the court case?" Pushing my hair behind my ears I look at her giving her a small smile. "In about an hour. I also have a dance performance tonight."

"Okay listen to me. It's okay to focus on your father right now but once you step foot in that stage you focus on your dream of becoming a dancer." Nodding at Gina a tear rolled down my face which I cleaned off. "It's not only that. I saw Ricky with Nini and they were about to kiss." The tan skin girl rolled her eyes looking at her now new best friend. "Ricky can be an idiot sometimes." I giggled looking down at my hands. "Yeah. I've also tried to talk to him about everything going on but it's like he's avoiding me. Do you think maybe it's because he wants to with Nini and is trying to distance himself from me so it's less painful?" I watch Gina take out her phone and angrily typing on it. Wondering who she's texting I stared at her in wonder. "He's complicated and we both know that. But if he did want to be with Nini he would have never dated you or had shown any affection towards you." I bite my bottom lip thinking about what she just said.

"Do you think maybe there's something going on with his parents or is it because he misses you?" I looked at her with a small smile while she twirled one of her curly strands with her finger. "I'm not sure Brina. I mean I miss all of you, especially you. After what happened during thanksgiving you calling me and just checking up on me got us really close." Smiling at her I decided to change the whole topic. We talked for thirty minutes until my mom came in and told me breakfast was ready. I was glad I had someone to talk to mostly Gina since I was able to tell her about all of my problems. Eating breakfast felt weird. It was quiet and my mom kept giving Beck glances like she was talking to him in her mind.
