It was a new day, a refreshingly bright one. Mark found himself seated on one of the benches at the train station, nervously clutching two tickets in his quivering hands. The tickets were for the new action-hero movie everyone was raving about, and Mark had to constantly remind himself that this wasn't a dream. It was his first date with Donghyuck.

"Hey, Donghyuck!" Mark panted, having sprinted from his classroom at the far end of the halll to Donghyuck's classroom on the second floor. "I happened to get two tickets! D-do you want to watch it together?" He theatrically waved the tickets, hoping Donghyuck's attention would be on the golden tickets rather than his flushed face.

"O-oh! Heck yes!" Donghyuck exclaimed in excitement.

✨✨✨

'This is bad, I'm getting nervous. What should I do during the date?'

Swiftly, Mark abandoned his seat, scrutinizing himself in the window's reflection. A mental battle raged as he contemplated how to leave a lasting impression.'I don't want to mess up on this first date' Sighing deeply, he threw his arms behind his head.'Maybe I should start with a greeting...' and so, Mark began practicing his greeting.

TAKE 1:

"Good morning, Babe! The sun's out, the birds are singing," he spoke cornily, placing a hand on his hip and the other on his head, "it's as if they're celebrating our first date~"

No, this definitely isn't it.

TAKE 2:

"Oh, Hyuck! Thanks for coming," he beamed a toothy smile and spoke in a rather high-pitched voice, "let's enjoy ourselves today! HA-HA-HA."

In instant regret, Mark dropped to the ground and hugged his knees from cringing so hard. "S-something isn't right... Who the hell was I just now..."

TAKE 3:

Getting back up again, Mark moved closer to his reflection and moved some flyaways that had fallen out of place onto his forehead. 'Should I be more daring?... Maybe it'll be more effective.'

He aggressively threw his hand against the window while his other hand found its place on his hips. Moving closer to the imaginary Donghyuck, he flirtatiously exclaimed, "Hey cutie~ Looking hot today, aren't you? There must be something wrong with my eyes; I can't take them off you." Chuckling, he moved even closer to the phantom Donghyuck, "let's have some fun today, shall we?" Fists pumped the air in victory; this was definitely the one.

"Um... What are you doing, Mark?" Donghyuck spoke out near the entrance, witnessing everything and displaying a mix of concern and confusion. "...who are you talking to?"

"...shit"

✨✨✨

"PFFFF!! AHAHAHA" Donghyuck erupted in laughter, almost tumbling off his seat on the train a couple of times.

"Stop laughing already!" Mark was so embarrassed, unable to believe he hadn't noticed the tan boy standing there the whole time."Gosh, I could die right now; I just wanted to leave a good impression, not be embarrassed." He bent down, resting his elbows on his knees; he hid his face in his hands.

"You did leave a good impression on me. That was very cute of you" Donghyuck said in between his laughs.

"Shut up! Don't call a guy cute!"

"Thank goodness I'm not the only one nervous about this date." The smaller boy sighed in relief; words could not describe how nervous he was, but as usual, being with Mark soothed his nerves. He really liked that about him.

"Eh, for real?"

"Well, I spent more time than usual getting dressed for today," Donghyuck spoke softly, adjusting himself comfortably on his seat. "It's kind of embarrassing."

Mark hadn't noticed earlier, but looking at him now, he could see that Donghyuck looked different today. Was he trying to impress him? This thought of Donghyuck dressing up to look good for him sent warm sparks in Mark's stomach; if only he could kiss him right now.

"So?" Donghyuck spoke, breaking Mark's train of thought.

"What is it?"

"Are you going to do it or what?" He teased, referring to Mark's hilarious performance from earlier. (The sexy greeting, specifically, haha)

"Ya! Give me a break already!"

The two boys talked and laughed for the rest of their journey on the train, feeling more comfortable with every bicker they had and every story they shared. This was undoubtedly going to be an enjoyable date.
