Chapter 14

After Kobie kissed me, everything changed. I stopped looking at him like he was a monster, but instead like a person who needs to open up. He also changed since he kissed me; he stopped picking on me and shoving me around. Unfortunately TJ and Jimmy didn't. They kept teasing me while Kobie stood in the background laughing, but I knew it wasn't real. He was only trying to cover himself up in front of them and a part of me was happy that he did, but another part of me hates that he let them shove him around.

Allison and William still had no clue that I was gay, nor seemed to notice and continued to be themselves.

"Are you guys ready for the English test tomorrow? I heard that Mr Johnson made the questions super hard and that his first period failed today!"Allison says looking around with a shocked face as we stand in the hallway.

"Huh, I have Kobie for English, I wonder if he'll sit behind me again?"

"I hope I don't fail that test, my grade depends on it." Says William, "My father told me that if I get a B or higher that he is willing to let me use his private jet! His private jet!" William scratches.

"Rich ass,"Allison says jokingly, "But it would be really nice to ride a private jet."

"I will personally tutor you if that means we can ride it," I say.

William turns towards me then smiles, "If I pass this test, I will take you guys anywhere the weekend after!"

Allison instantly sticks out her hand to shake with William, and I do the same thing. He shakes both our hands with a large smile.

The thought of flying in a private jet fills my mind for the rest of the day until I suddenly get jerked to the side while walking down the stairs towards English. I am pulled into a little pocket that lays right under the stairs by no other than Kobie. He looks at me with a worried face as he looks me over.

"You okay?" He asks.

I look at him with a bit of confusion before I ask, "What are you talking about?"

"This morning, when Jimmy pinned you to the wall."

"Why the fuck do you care," I say, "You're so hidden with the-"

"And you're not with Allison and William." He says cutting me off.

I sigh. "Why did you pull me under here."

I look around and see dozens of cobwebs and spider nests. A few pieces of blue and red gum hang squished against the back of the step while little hearts with initials are drawn all over the place. It would not surprise me if someone got their first blowjob under these stairs.

"The test, I didn't study, I need your help. I can't fail this test, if I do then I could fail and get kicked out of wrestling. I can't get kicked out." He says.

"We had two weeks to prepare for this test, why are you just now worrying about it. It starts in.." I look at my watch and back at him, "in four minutes. Plus we have to walk all the way over to the English hall."

"Josh please, I can't fail this test."

I purse my lips and look at him. He looks down at me with worried eyes which shocks me. I have never seen Kobie worried about anything doing with school, but now that he is, I feel worried too. I sigh and he suddenly lights up with a smile.

"Oh my God thank you," he says as he grabs my cheeks and kisses my forehead.

"I'll try to lift my paper up a little so that you can read my answers but I am not going all out okay?"

He nods his head and I look down at my watch. "Okay, I am going to start heading over. You stay here and show late like you always do." I say.

I re-adjust my bag and turn and walk out from under the stairs. To my surprise, no one was walking down the stairs to notice me, and I walk down the hallway towards the English hall.
