*At Hogwarts*
It was the last day of the school year and only a week since the events at the ministry. I had just finished packing my trunk and I was waiting for Dylan in the Slytherin common room.
When Draco Malfoy and his sidekicks walked in and I saw him walk towards me.
"Nice to see you back from being buddy buddy with those Gryffindor friend of yours" He spoke trying to taunt me once more but I didn't have the energy to fight him because it was the last day of school.
"Yeah jealous Malfoy since I actually have friends" I said which caused him to scoff and walk away obviously annoyed that his plan to cause a fight failed.
Luckily for me Dylan arrived right after Malfoy left saving me from anymore unpleasant encounters with other members of my house.
We walked to the great hall to have breakfast before we left for the Hogwarts Express, both Dylan and I sat down at the Slytherin table although I wanted to sit with the Gryffindors but my brother was still upset with me because of the whole ministry thing so we kept our distance rather than getting another lecture from him.
"So what you doing during the summer?" Dylan asked as he stared putting some food on his plate.
"Nothing really and even if we did have anything planned I think Voldemort would put it on rain check" I answered which caused him to laugh and shake his head.
"They guy doesn't let up, I know you want to destroy the wizarding world by ruling it but that doesn't mean you get to ruin my summer" he replied which caused us to laugh quite loudly and because of that receiving dirty looks from the Slytherins seated around us.
We continued to talk to each other and eat at the same time. When we finished we got up and started to make our way out of castle.
Once we arrived outside we met up with Edmund, Ron and Harry. Who were waiting for a carriage to take us to Hogsmeade station.
"Where's Hermione?" I asked as we approached the group of Gryffindor boys that stood in front of us.
"Well hi Rowell, I'm doing fine, How are you?" Ron asked obviously making fun of me since I didn't greet them.
"She said she left something in her dorm so she went to get it but she's been gone a while" Harry responded actually being a lot helpful than Ron.
"I'll go look for her and I'll catch up with you once I find her" I said as I jogged back towards the castle but as I turned around I heard the voice of my brother.
"Running off as usual, you never do listen to me" he said evidently trying to start something since he was still annoyed with me but I just continued walking.
As I walked towards the building I spotted Hermione sitting all alone in the courtyard just staring out at nothing. I walked towards her and shocked her as I sat down next to her.
"Al, what are you doing here?" She asked surprised by my presence.
"I could ask you the same question Granger" I responded which caused her to sigh.
"It's nothing really I'm just thinking about everything that's happened recently" she said but I could see she was clearly worried by something.
"Is this got to do with what happened at the ministry?" I asked and she turned to me and nodded I could see her eyes were teary.
"The way You-Know-Who just took control of Harry, it made me realise that he's much stronger than he's ever been before when we faced him and he'll probably get stronger and I just...What if he kills Harry or Ron or You? I don't know what I'd do if anything happened to any of you" she blurted out all that was bothering her and now tears were streaming down her face and I couldn't bear seeing her like this but I wasn't very good at comforting people so I just put my arm around her shoulder allowing her head to rest against my neck.
"Hermione you know I can't promise that no one's going to get hurt by Voldemort but as long as we stay together we'll always be here to protect each other to the best of our abilities and I'll always be there for you and our friends through thick and thin" I said breaking the long period of silence.
"I know and I'm so grateful for that, for you" she said flashing me a small smile and then looking into my eyes and then I felt her lips against which surprised me but then I snapped out of my shock and held her face in my hands, while we kissed.
It had only been a few seconds when Hermione pulled away from me and I could see the huge blush present on her face matching the one on my face.
"Um let's go I think the boys are waiting for us" I said getting up really quickly and dusting off the back of my clothes. Hermione nodded and then got up so we could go to where the carriages were.
When we arrived we saw that everyone was there still waiting for us. Then Dylan turned and saw us walking and he smirked at us but I just rolled my eyes at him.
"Well look at who finally decided to come back, what took you so long?" Ron asked as we rejoined the group.
"Um-ah we were looking for the thing that Hermione left" I said very unconvincingly but these boys weren't the smartest so they didn't notice but I could feel Hermione's eye roll.
"Alright let's go" Harry said as we all began climbing onto a carriage. I was seated between Hermione and Dylan and the other three boys sat on the other side.
As everyone was in deep conversation Dylan leaned over and whispered in my ear.
"As soon as we get on the Hogwarts Express you're telling me everything that happened" He whispered and I couldn't help a faint blush come on my face as I glanced at Hermione.
