Chapter 7

Annabeth's POV:


"I'm nervous Mandy.." I said.

"Oh come on! Don't be nervous! Show them what you've got!" Mandy said.

"Its just that I'm not used in wearing this kind of clothes..." I said.

"Well Annabeth! This is your chance to show them that you can be beautiful! Come on! Don't you dare be nervous again." Mandy said.

"Okay..." But still I can't ignore the butterflies in my stomach. I can't help think on their reaction when they see me. Will they be disgusted or not? Will they laugh at me or not. Ugh these crazy thoughts keep swimming in my head.
Okay... calm Annabeth you can do this... Breath in Breath out.

"Annabeth is that you?"

I turned to that voice and was shocked to see Jack. He looks dashingly handsome in his suite. He wore a white suite with pink necktie. I can't help to think that our clothes definitely matched each other. We stayed there for minutes gazing out each other.


Jack's POV:

I was here standing on the floor waiting for Annabeth. I can't help being nervous and excited seeing her. As I was waiting I can't help notice that a beautiful girl in a wonderful pink gown came in the Prom Veranda. And what came to my mind first was she is very beautiful and she matches what I wear! I was shocked as I came to her that she looks like Annabeth.

"Annabeth is that you?" I asked her.

And true it is! It is Annabeth! She looks very gorgeous on her dress and I can't stop myself staring at her.After

minutes of staring at her I can't seem get enough of her! She ditched her glasses and braces and her natural beauty

comes up! After some time of hesitating I managed to broke the silence by asking her to dance.

"Will you dance with me?" I asked her.

"Sure" she said.

And I held her hand and when we arrived at the dancing floor the music changed to a slow music and we danced. Each

second of our dance is the most precious moment of my life. She is dazzling and I am the one who is dancing with her.

I took a lot of time digesting this. But all of this was ruined when a naggy voice interrupted our dance.

"Jack honey, who are you dancing with?" Ugh Amanda is here.


Annabeth's POV:

I just can't believe it Jack asked me to dance with him! Every second of the dance was perfect. We are truly like

couples. I just wish this was true. I know he just asked me to dance because its his obligation as a partner. Oh well

even though those are just his motives, I'm not allowed to savor this moment right?

All of my thoughts were broken when Amanda came to us and said
"Jack honey, who are you dancing with?"

Oh I forgot she may not recognize me yet. But when she came I noticed Jack giving an annoyed gaze at her but I think

I'm just imagining it. It was so fast that you could barely address him doing it.

"Hi Amanda, I'm dancing with Annabeth" Jack said.

"WHATT????? with Annabeth?" Amanda asked then she gazed at me and she had the most bewildered face in the earth that I

swear she could get an award with it.

"This can't be happenning! You- you- you have a dress better than mine! Tha hair! Oh no! Oh no! No one will be better

then me! I must be the most beautiful so that Jack will choose me not you!" Amanda said.

"I'm sorry I didn't know!"

"How dare you could do this to me!" She screamed and started attacking me. She reached at my hair and pull at it. And

it hurts!! ( T _ T )

"No one gets better than me!" She raged still pulling at my hair and attempting to ruined my dress. My dress how dare

she!

"Stop it Amanda! Stop it!" Jack interfere with us and tried to calm Amanda.

"Let go of me!" I screamed.

"HAHA no I won't!" Amanda retorted.

I swear it hurts so much that I'm crying. Jack used his force to pushed Amanda away from me and hugged her to calm her

down. And I swear seeing him doing that is more painful than Amanda pulling at my hair. I just ran away to avoid the

gazes of my colleagues, guess we already made a huge scene. I ran and ran until I found a little shelter in the garden

and broke down to tears.

Turns out Mandy's plan wasn't working that well. Still Jack chose Amanda over me. And here I am all alone just what

I've always been.
