''Mel? Mel, wake up!''
My eyes slowly started getting back into focus, where was I? I rubbed my eyes and came face-to-face with a familiar blue-haired boy.
''Angelo? Where am I?''
We were in a dark room; my jaw was still aching after Chrissy knocked me out.
''I don't know. I went looking for you, I found you on the floor and someone grabbed me. Next thing I know we're in here.''
I jumped up, how did things escalate like this? Was it because Chrissy told me? A scary thought came to mind, what happened to Chrissy when she left?
''We need to get out of here.''
I felt around the darkroom, I was hoping to find a door when my fingers felt a cold hand. I jumped back and felt a shiver run up my spleen.
''Angelo, I felt a hand.''
His voice ran cold.
''A hand? Are you sure?''
I got slightly annoyed with him.
''Yes. I am sure, I know what a hand feels like.''
Angelo sighed.
''Wait;"
He grabbed onto my shoulder.
''I still have my phone.''
I was overwhelmed with happiness.
He switched his phone's flashlight on and what we saw scarred us forever.
A familiar lifeless figure came into sight. I felt my eyes swell as I realized who it was. My voice cracked as I said her name.
''Ashley.''
Angelo's stomach couldn't take it; he threw up at the sight of the girl's body.
I cried for a long while after finding Ashley's body. After all the shakes and tears, I gave into Angelo's never-ending questions.
''Ashley was the girl I dated back in Dallas. I haven't seen her since we got outed.''
He held me tight, nothing mattered right now. It was all my fault; I could've saved her if I weren't so scared to return her calls after we got outed. At this moment, I wish I had never been born at all.
We heard a click and suddenly we were blinded by a bright light.
''Oh my god, are you guys okay?''
It was Chrissy, I could remember that voice anywhere.
Angelo spoke up.
''We need to get out of here.''
We followed Chrissy's voice out. When we got outside we realized that we were inside an abandoned shipping crate. Angelo told Chrissy what happened after she explained that she wasn't behind what was happening to us.
''We have to call the cops.''
We couldn't do that if we did the truth about what happened to Jason's girlfriend would come out.
''No, we can't."
Angelo got mad.
''Are you insane!? That poor girl is dead, Mel. Dead!''
I slid down the side of the crate.
''Trust me, I know. We can't go to the police or one of us will be next in this crate.''
He knew I was right, we decided to close the crate and leave. I felt bad for leaving her in there but we had no other option if we moved her body we would be suspects.
