𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐧, Chari begged and begged to have her two free periods at the end of the day so she could check out of school at lunch. However, whoever despised her greatly to sparkle some bad voodoo juju upon her, gave the golden girl two free periods spread periodically through the day.

The blessing was one of them followed lunch, meaning she'd have extended time to do whatever she pleased off campus like ordering the all you can eat sushi and taking her time that equaled almost an hour and a half. Unfortunately for her, Valerio didn't have an extended free, thus they took their order to-go after taking three sake shots in a row, for the curly haired boy to return to campus for the first time, on time.

Majority of her friend group had the same free periods but now that her circle of allies remained solely upon a few fingers on one hand, her free time was spent solo. She had finished her sushi out in the quad with thirty minutes left to spare and opted to hide away in the library, which rarely anyone was caught dead unless their name was Nadia. Even then, Chair didn't mind seeing her.

When the brunette arrived the library was vacant besides the librarian and few lingering tutors, scattered doing their own thing. Sneaking her way to the back corner, Chari had perched herself away from sight and kicked up her legs, crossing them at the ankles while she made herself comfortable with her phone in hand.

She could feel her phone constantly vibrating in her purse while at lunch and though she tried to ignore it, Valerio brought her pained annoyance to her attention. "Ms. Popular, ay?" he wiggled his brow and attempted to grab her purse while driving to see what importance couldn't keep quiet. Chari had rolled her eyes and clutched to the straps of her bag, away from his sight, while pointing to the road, "pay attention." She was quick to pull it out and place it on do not disturb, paying no mind to the notifications upon the screen.

Now that she was by her lonesome and bored out of her wits with minutes to spare, did she scroll through her phone. If there was one thing Chari enjoyed most about her brother being locked up at the juvenile center was the peace that came with it. One, her house had been empty and silent and two, her cell phone usage went down since she wasn't constantly bombarded with messages.

Polo was definitely making up for lost time.

His name flashed in bold upon her iphone with his contact photo, his eyes crossed and tongue darting outward while he hung upside down from the edge of her bed, beside it; and to the right of that the number 57 messages, and underneath 13 missed calls.

Scoffing underneath her breath, Chari opened their text chat and quickly scrolled through the conversations. Her eyes scanned each repetitive message, "talk to Carla...has she said anything...what are you doing...how's it going...Carla wont answer... tell Carla to talk to me."
