Under The Knife

As Alexandra opened her eyes all she saw was white . " Where the hell am I " she questioned . " Mommmmmmmaaa" she screamed . " Calm down Ms.Fields, it's okay surgery is over " the nurse stated. " Where is my moma ? " Alexandra said still drowsy from being knocked out . " Your family is in the waiting room , we'll get them shortly . Alexandra drifted off again . Once she woke up again , she was in a hospital room filled with her family members . " She's up" ... Alexandra heard her grandmother say . Everything was still a blur . " Momma" Alexandra whispered . " I'm right here Ellie". Her momma whispered . Alexandra's mother grabbed her hand . Alexandra drifted back off but she started dreaming , all she saw was her grandparents home in Blanchard ; and it was her Grandparents sitting on a couch she couldn't figure out what they were saying . Her dream was cut short by the agonizing pain . Alexandra woke up crying , she understood she just had surgery but why was she in pain . "Momma " she cried. "It's okay , Ellie it's just after surgery pain" . After she was given something for pain , Alexandra just laid there . In walked Cameron , " Sug , what's wrong?" Sug was the nickname he had given her while they dated . " It hurts" she cried . " Your gonna be okay , stop crying " . He said . Alexandra kept dozing off . So Cameron decided to leave .. He kissed her forehead then he left . Alexandra was ready to go home and she had just come out of surgery. She missed her king size bed . So all she thought all she would do was sleep while in the hospital .

The next day Alexandra woke up and she heard a familiar voice .. " Elliebelly , you up ?" There was only one person in the world who called her that , and it was her daddy. Alexandra smiled like she had just won a million dollars . "Yea , I'm up" she said . " How you feeling?" He asked . "I'm okay , I'm just ready to go home ." Soon as she said that she was hit with pain again . "You iight ?" Her daddy asked . " yea ,just a little pain" she replied. Alexandra felt her stomach and surprisingly she could feel where they removed the ovary . Alexandra was ready to get back to work . She was climbing her way to success as a beautician and life was going pretty well for her . " Alexandra are you ready to start walking?" The nurse asked . "Walk? Umm they just cut me open and they want me to walk?" Alexandra asked . " well the faster you walk and show us your progressing the faster you go home . When the nurse said that Alexandra's face lit up . " Thats all you had to say" Alexandra chuckled. Alexandra thought to herself " I knew how to walk before I came in this hell hole " ... Well, it wasn't as easy as she thought it was . Alex got up and instantly had to sit back down .. " you got it ?" Her mom asked . " no but we gone get it cause I'm ready to go home" . Alexandra was getting restless in the hospital if it wasn't one thing it was another and all she wanted to do was go home . No matter how much she wanted to be alone her family and friends wasn't letting that happen , her hospital room was never empty .! She loved it . After 4 long days in the hospital Alexandra was home free . She was happy . She didn't care about having to be in the house 6 weeks , well atleast she thought . It was just the fact of her getting out that hospital . As she waited for the doctors bring her , her release papers she just rested . " Knock,Knock" she heard a familiar voice say . " Yes ?" Alexandra responded . It was her long time friend Deshawn and her cousin Kierra . Deshawn and Alexandra had been friends for over 5 years and they attended the same church . " Yall look pretty " Alexandra said , she noticed the girls were in they're Sundays best . " How was church? " Alexandra's mother asked . " It was wonderful" Deshawn said with a smile . " How you feeling ?" They asked .. " I'm fine just ready to go home" . " You gone be stuck in the bed anyway " Deshawn laughed. " But it's my bed" Alexandra said rolling her eyes . "What if you gotta stay again" , deshawn asked " Girl they must not know I'll set WK off in the right way" Alexandra scuffed with snapping her fingers . Everybody giggled . " Please do so I can get it on tape " Alexandra's Aunt Arissa said . Her name was Arissa but she liked to be called Foxy . "and they have a place for people who liked to set stuff off" Alexandra's mother laughed . " We have your papers " a nurse said walking in with a folder. " Okay Alexandra you still have staples in so be careful until Dr.Lacoure removes them next week ." She also said . Alexandra was told to take everything slow until she's fully healed . Alexandra knew she wouldn't be able to return to the salon , which made her kind of sad because she was ready to return to work . She knew these six weeks were going to go by so slow .
