Let The Countdown Begin

It was two weeks before chemo started and Alexandra refused to stay in the house. She had to get out the house . " How you feeling " her dad asked . " Im okay " Alexandra lied . Alexandra wanted to proove to her dad that she was tough and that she could get through this .  " I know your gone get through it Belly , you tough" Alexandra smiled. She loved wheen her dad complimented her . " I know" she said walking back to her room .  Alexandra had always had a passion for writing it just came so easy . She bought her self a new zebra print journal and it was already half full. " So what you got planned today"  her mom asked walking into her room . " Think ima just go to Quila house then I might stop at Cameron house" she replied. " You okay" her mom said looking concerned. " Yea Im Fine" Alexandra replied . Alexandra had only told 5 people about her having cancer and she had no clue how to tell people . It was like she was embarassed . She was 19 and she had cancer . How was she going to tell people that.  Alexandra had did some research of her own on the type of cancer she had. Ovarian Cancer. " So you mean to tell me i have a cancer that old women get" Alexandra asked her mom . " No yours is a little different " During surgery with the tumor they removed they also removed one of Alexandra's ovaries. " Momma whats my chance of living" Alexandra asked . She could tell the question shocked her mother. " Your gonna live Ellie"  her mom replied. Alexandra replied " Okay".  " Im getting cute for no reason today she said" . If anybody knew Alexandra , they knew the Queen had to stay " Beat To The Gawds" a term she used for looking fabulous.  It was nothing to Alexandra to spend every penny she made at MAC counter. The girl just loved makeup , even though she had been told by many people she didnt need it. "You look cute , where you going girl" Aliecia asked . Aliecia was Alexandra's little sister , she was 17 and sassy as ever. " Hang with Quila and then see Cameron , want to come" she asked. " Nah I gotta go get this paper girl" she laughed referring to her job at AirU. Alexandra and her little sister was two peas in a pod , Every since they were little the two were stuck at the hip . Even though they argued liked dogs and cats Alexandra would get with anybody who disrespected her little sister . " I gotta pick you up?" Alexandra asked . " No I think momma is" . " Ok'' Alexandra replied . As Alexandra got ready to leave she made sure she had everything , " Phone, Check" , " iPad, Check" " Chargers, Check" .  She proceeded to leave. " ELLLLIIIIIEEEEE'' she heard her little brother coming . " Yes" she said . " Can you bring me some hot fries" he asked. " yea i will" she said . Alexandra walked outside to see her dad had left in her truck . " UGHHHHH" she was mad now. " MOMMMMMAAAA" she yelled.  " what" she replied . " daddy in the truck , can i use your car?" she asked, " Yes , but be very careful . she said sternly . " Of course, I will" Alexandra smiled. Alexandra loved driving her mothers car she had no idea why cause she hated cars. " Guess Ill go see bae first" she said. she said . She loved being in his presence all her problems seems to disappear , he brought a different side of her out and she loved it . Alexandra and Cameron had met two years ago , and they had broke up a few times but no matter what  they were stuck at the hip  . As she pulled up. " im outside" She said calling him.  Alexandra parked Big bertha. " Dang can he walk any slower" she said to herself . As Cameron walked out, she could tell something was bothering him . " Whats got you looking like a sick puppy" she asked. He smiled . " Nothing " he said pulling her out the truck " come here i missed you " . Alexandra blushed. Even though he was smiling Alexandra could tell something was bothering Cameron. " Whats wrong " she asking cuffing his face with her hands. " Nothing Sug, how was your day?'' he asked. " It was fine , but stop avoiding my question" . " Can we sit in the truck? " he asked. " Sure" she replied. Alexandra knew everytime he asked to sit in her truck , there was something they needed to talk about . " Look Sug , I want you to promise me something" he said . " Umm okay" Alexandra said . " What you fixing to go through is not going to be easy " he said grabbing her hand  ,I dont want you to stress yourself about it, i dont want you crying and worrying yourself . I mean i know its alot to deal with but promise me you wont give up " he said looking at Alex. She was shocked but yet amazed that he cared so much " I mean bae i have cancer , thats alot to deal with " she said " I cant promise you that im not gone stress about it but i promise not to give up " she smiled. "  The two sat in silence for about five minutes . " What if i lose this fight ?'' she asked looking at Cameron .  He looked her like she had turned into a ghost . " Dont ask no bullshit like that " he snapped back . " What ? Honestly , what if i just get tired of fighting bae".  a tear fell , she wiped it away before Cameron noticed. " You wont , cause ill be there every step of the way . she smiled . " I have a future planned and your apart of it so no you not giving up" he said. " I guess" she said . That particular thought had been in the back of Alexandra's head for the longest . " What if i lose this fight" . " What time is it" Alexandra asked. " 3:56" he replied. "Ok" . " Where you got to go " he asked. " Somewhere" she replied . "Well excuse me " he said . Alexandra had cleared her schedule today to go to Blanchard , to her grandparents grave. She didnt want anybody to know . She wanted to be alone " Well im fixing to get ready to go , ill try to come back a little bit later if not ill come tomorrow". she said . Her eyes just started tearing up . " Sug , you okay?'' Cameron asked . " Yea , Im Fine She said. " Come give me a hug" . She got out to hug him. " Im Surprised you leaving so early, you normally here all day getting on my nerves" he said . Alexandra laughed. She hugged him and didnt want to let go the tears begin to fall but she hated for Cameron to see her cry. Luckily his shirt caught all her tears . " Sug , whats wrong " he asked worried about her now. " Nothing" she replied. " Ill call you when i get home" she said. He grabbed her face "Promise me you'll be ok" he demanded . " Bae Im okay" she said.  They both knew she was lying . " Call Me soon as you get home" he said. " Okay' she said . Alexandra pulled off .. The ride to Blanchar was something else , Alexandra hadnt cried like that before. " Why the hell is this happening to me " she screamed . Alexandra wasnt to fond of cemeteries but she felt like she needed to talk to her grandparents , she hadnt been to that cemetery since her grandpas funeral. The drive felt like it took forever . She wanted to get there before dark and get out of there before dark. As she pulled up she started to cry again . She parked her truck backwards so it would be easy for her to get in and out the cemetery. She grabbed her phone and got out her truck. As she walked up to the plots were her grandmother and grandfather were buried , she felt herself get light headed. " Shakebake Ellie cause yo ass out here by yourself" she laughed to herself . " I wish yall were here " alexandra said. Alexandra missed her grandparents so much . " Theres so much thats been going on " she said tearing up again . " My life is over , I have cancer Pawpaw , can you believe that " she asked looking at her grandpas grave. " Well give me a few months , ill be joining yall " she said crying . Alexandra cried , she let everything out. She noticed the sun was starting to go down. " Well let me get out of here, i love yall" she said walking back her truck. Alexandra felt kind of relieved after crying . " Well that was well needed " she said to herself.  As Alexandra drove home, she was silent , she was thinking . Thinking about how her life was fixing to change all in the matter of two weeks . She went from going to work everyday to being home everyday in pain . She went from going out almost every weekend to spending her weekends home stuck in bed . She felt her life was over , she felt she was slowly dying and cancer was the pill that was gone knock it all out.

" How was your day today" her mom asked sitting on her bed . " It was okay" Alexandra said . "You know if you want to talk to somebody , you can see somebody" her mom suggested. " Momma , Im fine i dont want to see a crazy doctor. Alexandra didnt want to sit in a strangers offica and tell them how she was ready to give up already . " Its not a crazy doctor, you just dont need to bottle your feelings in like that" her mother said. " Im not momma , thats why i write " Alexandra said . " Well what you wanna do before you start chemo"  " I want to have a big party " Alexandra said . " I want all the family to come, EVERYBODY" Alexandra said . " Okay ill see what i can do " her mother added. Alexandra loved when her family , it just brought happiness and just plain fun . " Lets Do it November 1 , thats the Saturday before chemo starts" Alexandra said. " So next Saturday is Operation Turnup .

NIghts were the worst for Alexandra , as the days counted down she got more scared. She decided it was time to let the rest of her friends and family know what was going on. So instead of  texting , calling and all that she just posted a  post on Instagram and Facebook . After posting it , everybody and they momma claimed to be her "bestfriend", "sister" and all that . Although she had alot of positive feedback , it also came with negative stuff. For some odd reason alot of people thought Alexandra was faking . " Who the hell fakes cancer" Alexandra said to herself.  Although she wasnt a emotional person , some of the negative comments got to her . She did reply to some the negative comments. " LET me reply to them" Creola said. Creola was heated at the fact that everybody all of sudden wanted to be Alexandra's bestfriend and all of sudden wanted to come around. " I want to fight now " Ashleigh said. The girls laughed. Although people were coming from left and right Alex knew the people who were there from day one . " That just burns my hide" Creola said getting mad. " Shes my bestfriend, they havent been here so dont stroll yo ass over here now" . The girls laughed but Creola was dead serious . Although this was a stressful time for Alexandra , she managed to fake a smile and pretend to be happy for her friends. She was really stressed . Although she loved all her friends , Creola was the only one who knew how Alexandra really felt. The two just had more of a sisterly bond than bestfriends. It hurt all the girls though to see Alexandra down like had been lately . " Alex cheer up" Ashleigh begged . " Im not used to you being down like this " she said . " Im okay" Alex said .  No matter how many times Alex said she was okay , the girls know she wasnt .  Alexandra was to the point where she wanted to be alone . She didnt want to be bothered .  She slowly started to fall apart .
