I was trying not to throw up as Nancy and Steve talked about last night before they kissed and Steve finally left. Before I said anything, Nancy shot me a look.
"Don't." She said as she tried to hide the smirk on her face.
"Wait a minute. You guys didn't...." I trailed off as realization hit me. "Nancy!"
"Jordan!" Nancy exclaimed, starting to get embarrassed.
"You silly little girl. I'm surprised he hasn't dumped you yet." I shook my head.
"You're being dramatic. He's not like that." Nancy defended him.
"I can't talk to you right now." I held a hand up to her before headed to class. I was mostly being sarcastic, and I'm sure she knew that, but a part of me was a little disappointed.
I shook my head. It's none of my business.
After school I was searching for Jonathan in the parking lot when I saw him and Nancy on the ground picking up something.
"What's going on?" I asked as I approached them.
"It's uh... it's nothing." Jonathan told me as he and Nancy finished picking up the ripped up photos. I spotted the broken camera on the ground. I felt myself getting angry, having a pretty good idea of whose doing this was.
"Who did this?" I asked Jonathan, but he didn't respond. "Jon, who broke the damn camera?"
"Steve." He said quietly. That was all I needed to hear. I was already heading towards Steve and his friends.
"Oh, hey Jordan. What's up, you need another ride?" Steve asked as he saw me approaching.
I didn't answer as I walked up to him and slapped him across the face. Hard.
"What the hell?" He asked as he brought his hand up to his stinging cheek.
"Yeah, what the hell, Harrington? You know, I don't get it. You try to be my friend. You act all nice, offer me rides, put on your bullshit act. Then you go and break my best friend's camera and rip up his pictures? Way to win me over, asshole." I snapped, keeping surprisingly calm.
"Do you even know what those pictures were of? They were of Nancy, last night. He was watching us from the woods. I broke the camera to stop him from being a creep." Steve defended himself, but I didn't like what I heard.
"Shut up! Shut up, shut up!" I went to hit him again, but I felt arms wrap around my waist, pulling me back.
"Jo, stop it. Just let it go." Jonathan said from behind me. I forced myself to calm down before I glared at Steve, who now had Nancy by his side.
"Have fun with Mr. Perfect." I snapped before walking off with Jonathan.
"You really need to stop fighting everyone who says something bad about me." Jonathan told mw as we both got into his car.
"You're my best friend, I have to defend you." I said as I gave him a smile.
"With violence?" He asked.
"Hey, you can't say that Steve and Tommy don't deserve a good beating, and who's better to give it to them than me? It'll hurt their ego a hell of a lot more to be hit by a girl." I told Jonathan and and he just shook his head as he smiled.
"So, you were taking pictures of Nancy last night?" I asked.
"Can you not?" He asked, getting embarrassed.
"Come on, I think your crush on her is adorable." I smiled as I poked his shoulder. "Just maybe don't be a peeping Tom, yeah?" My smile dropped once I noticed the expression on Jonathan's face. "What is it?"
"I, uh....um, when I was taking those pictures something...something weird happened." I felt a sinking feeling in my stomach.
"What was it?" I asked.
"Barb, she was sitting by the pool, and there was this....this thing that took her. I don't know. She was just gone." He stared off into nothingness, replaying the scene in his head.
"Your mind was just playing tricks on you. Right? She just got up and left when you weren't looking." I assured him, and he just faintly nodded. "Yeah. Anyway, lets forget about all this creepy stuff for today. Let's have some fun. We'll go and hangout somewhere, the go back to your place and watch a movie or something." I changed the topic as we approached his car.
"Okay." Jonathan agreed.

Later that night we were heading back to Jonathan's house after hanging out for a few hours. We just ate fast food and talked in his car, but I still enjoyed it.
"So, what do you want to do when we get to my house?" Jonathan asked.
"I don't know. Maybe we can see what's on TV?" I suggested.
All of a sudden we saw Joyce in the middle of the road, running towards us as she was glancing behind her. Jonathan slammed on the breaks and we both rushed out of the car.
"Mom? Mom, what happened?" Jonathan ran up to his mom and hugged her as she cried.
They continued to hug as police sirens started in the background. I looked at them with a concerned look, feeling bad for both of them, but not knowing how to help.
What the hell is happening in Hawkins?

A/N:
Okay, so this chapter has been edited and I've been trying to make Jordan less...annoying I guess. In the original version, she's just very overly rude to Nancy about being with Steve, but I'm changing that and making her more accepting because honestly it was just getting really annoying. Jordan is bisexual. The reason I had Jordan acting like that is because she was jealous, of Steve, not of Nancy. I was going to add this in later chapters, but decided against it. At this point she does dislike Steve, but has a crush on Nancy so she's being rude because she doesn't know how to deal with liking another girl. I might try to work that into the later chapters, maybe not this time, but later when I edit this story more thoroughly. Anyway, that's all, I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
