More Than This : Chapter 24 : Tell Me A Lie

Author's Note : I'm sorry for the loooooooonggg update! There's just too much problems that I've been having for the past few weeks! My friend got on a car accident and we just lost a family member, so yeah... Hope you guys understand :(. Anyway, I'm sorry if this chapter is kind of short and sad. By the way I love Danielle and Liam together, I just had to add something on their convo and As what I've always said guys, please do use the multimedia section! :) But if you're reading this on your phone, just play One Direction's Tell Me A Lie and fully imagine how would Liam react on this chapter.

“No – Danielle please, I know we can work this out! I – I'll protect you, I won't let them hurt you. We can work this out together, you and I. Please don't leave me!”

I heard Liam talking with someone on the phone. It might be Danielle again, they always have this kind of fights, well it's not really a fight, just complications about their relationship. Liam once opened up to me, telling me that Danielle was having problems with their relationship, she told him that they were always far away from each other and that there were some people who sent her some death threats . It made Liam worry a lot about her and once he found out about it, he kept on hanging out a lot with her and even hired some bodyguards to look after her, without her knowing, because he doesn't want to creep her out, well that's how much he loves her. He'll do anything for her, even if it's kind of impossible, he'll make it possible because he was deeply in love with her. Liam had always told us of how he felt that Danielle was the girl he'll be together forever, but somehow we think Danielle didn't thought of Liam the same way he thought about her.

“Please understand me Liam – I just can't handle this kind of thing anymore! I know you can't always be here for me. You see? You're there in Las Vegas and I'm here at London, we're miles and miles away, far from each other. Do you know how hard it is for me?” Danielle said at the other side of the phone. I couldn't help, but burst into tears. No, this wasn't happening again, what if this was the last time we'll talk about this? I'd rather have this same thing all over and over again, than her leaving me. I just can't – I just can't let it be that way.

“But – but Danielle please! We love each other and I know we can make this work – and once I get home, I'll make it up to you! If it is hard for you it's a lot harder for me, I couldn't sleep thinking about you every single night. Please don't do this Danielle, I love you so much.” I don't know what to do, I've tried my best to make her happy all the time. I just can't never get it right, no matter how hard I try. 

“I do love you too Liam, but this just isn't working out and – someone's been seeing me”

What? Someone's been seeing her? What does she mean?

“Seeing you? Who's seeing you?” I said, my hands trembling while holding my phone to my ear.

“A childhood friend of mine. You see they just came back and since his mum and my mum were always bonding, we always tend to end up with each other. Mum wanted me to be happy, but I just couldn't, because you're the only one who makes me happy, but then, there were times that I just needed someone to talk to me, to comfort me and to be there for me whenever I feel alone and unhappy. Well – he was there, telling me that he's got my back, he comforted me, made me a little bit happy when you weren't around, he was always there when I needed him”

I didn't know what I was going to say, I almost dropped the phone on what she said. She has another guy in his life – a guy who makes her happy. Even though he explains it like they were just friends looking out for each other, it felt like there could be something more with them. Danielle, well I love Danielle, she's my everything and I can't just let her go, but – hearing her like this, just hurts me. Knowing that she's unhappy, makes me a million times hurt than what I was I feeling. At this moment, I didn't know what to do, should I listen to my own thoughts and force her to stay with me or should I let her go so she'd be happy, it's what she wanted right? But – Danielle, I just can't think of living every single day without her – I love her so much and I never want to leave her.

“Danielle – please stop. I just want to ask you one last question – Are you still happy with me?” I forced myself to ask her, my voice cracking.

“I – I don't know, but I don't feel happy right now. There's just too much – I just can't handle this Liam! It's too crazy for me, I want my boyfriend to be always there for me and with our situation I think that just couldn't happen, so...”

“You want to end this...” I continued, knowing it was what she was going to say.

“Y – Yes, yes I do Liam. I'm so so sorry.”

I looked at the ceiling, with a hand on my forehead. So, this was it, we're over? I couldn't believe it, it felt like it was just yesterday I first laid my eye on her at X Faxtor. She would have to be the most beautiful girl I've ever seen and from that day on I loved her ever since, but now – she wasn't mine. The girl that I've been loving for about 2 years was leaving me. All our memories began to flashback inside my head, making my heart ache a lot more.

“Danielle – don't say sorry. It's all my fault, I was never there for you,”

“It wasn't your fault Liam, besides you're the most amazing boyfriend I've ever had, but it's just – it's just isn't working for me.”

“Danielle, I understand you – you don't have to explain everything” I said, holding back my tears. I wished she just lied, she should've told me that I was the worst boyfriend ever, but she didn't. It made it even harder for me to let her go.

“Okay – I hope you're okay. So I'm dropping the call Liam, I still have something to do – Bye...”

“Bye – Danielle” I said and she hang-up. I took a deep breath and started tearing up again. 

“Hey, are you okay?” Louis said, approaching towards me. I didn't notice he was awake, did he heard everything? I wiped my tears away and acted like nothing happened. As much as I want to tell Louis, I didn't want him and the lads to worry about me.

“I'm okay” I said, putting my phone to the side table of my bed.

“No you're not – I heard you talking to Danielle again. Am I right?” Well I guess he did heard everything.

“So you heard?” I told him and he went to sit with me on my bed, patting my shoulder.

“How couldn't I hear it? You were crying really hard mate! Now tell me, what is it this time?” he asked me and I do not know how I would answer him. So instead I told it to him straight, “Danielle broke up with me”

I sat there motionless, a lot of questions going on my mind. Was it true or was Liam just over-reacting again? After a couple of seconds that I wasn't talking, I faced him and noticed he was crying again, but a lot harder this time. Instead of asking him, how and why I just hugged him but it seemed like I made it worst, he cried a lot more. So I told him that it's going to be okay and that me and the lads will always be here for him. A few minutes passed by and Liam finally got to calm down a little bit, when someone knocked on our door.

“Who is it?” I asked.

“It's Ari! Guys, food is ready!” she said, sounding cheerful. Now, I just wished Ari can influence Liam with her cheerful attitude right now.

“Okay! We'll be going down in a few seconds!”

“I'll wait for you guys for you guys here!” Ari said from outside, she can really be childish at times. 

“What? Go down already Ari, we'll catch up to you”

“No, I won't. Now, please come out guys or I'll have to break down this door”

“You can't do that Ari”

“So you're challenging me?”

“No, I wasn't –” the door opened and Ari came inside. She quickly went to where we were sitting and took both of our hands pulling as up, when all of a sudden she began to look to Liam.

“What happened to Liam, Lou?” Ari asked me, still looking at Liam.

“Well, he – he's having some problems” I tried to explain, not giving to much information.

“Oh, can I know what it is?” she said, looking at me an then at Liam.

“I'm sorry Ari but we can't – ”

“My girlfriend broke up with me” Liam said, cutting me off.
