I gasped.

'W-what?'I stammered. What a surprise! Noah had pale skin and suspiciously sharp canines, but how could he be a vampire?I stared at him,but he was already looking into the distance with a murderous expression on his face. I looked there, and it turns out he was looking at Sophie the cheerleader who was skipping evilly with her friends. 'She's my mate but I'm forbidden to see her' I heard him murmer, still staring at Sophie.

I hated Sophie, but who was I to get in the way of a good friendship, even if it was suspiciously Australian. Who even calls each other mate anymore? I wondered. But I was happy Noah- sorry Edmard- had friends other than me and Trevor.  'Good for you No-Edmard.' I told him. 'I think I'm going to head home now. Its really cool your a vampire though, but I'm not surprised because you know, I had a friend at my old school who was a vampire too. His name was Stuart.'

At this Noah's head whipped back to me.

'Stuart?!' He asked. 'You know him?'I replied.

'He's only the most cruel and brash vampire ever! He calls himself the Dark King and every vampire worth his salt hates him.' Edmard told me. 'Yeah I can actually believe that. He kinda gave me the creeps.' I shivered.

'But it doesn't matter anymore. Last summer him and this werewolf Travis got into a fight and he lost. he hasn't come out of hiding since. Some think he's building up his strength to make a comeback.' I continued. Edmard stared at me with an open mouth. 'Anyway, I'm going home. See ya tomorrow!' I told him, and skipped home.

When I got there, my mom and dad were in their business suits and official lawyer blazers. There were suitcases strewn everywhere around the house and I almost tripped over a trolley on my way in.

'What's going on?' I asked as soon as I caught a glimpse of my mom lugging a suitcase down the stairs.

'Oh honey, I'm sorry but we have an urgent business trip i forgot to tell you about.'my mom sighed. 'We're travelling to Pakistan for ten months to settle a deal there.'my dad added, coming in from the next room. 'So we hired this guy to stay with you.'my mom finished. 'He lives next door anyway so it shouldn't be a problem for him or you.'

As she said this, a window smashed from the living room. Completely unfazed, my mom mildly said 'oh that must be him.'
