I LIE TO HER FACE - "Salvatore told me. In fact Salvatore tells me all there is to know about him and his life. It is just that I do not want to wear this in particular. I mean look at it- it looks like a dress a whore would wear."

"But is that not what YOU are to him or did he not tell YOU that part?" An all too familiar voice speaks on behalf of the maid.

I turn around - shocked in the least. "Candle?"

"Carina." Candle responds with a smile on her face and arms crossed across her chest.

I blink twice then thrice to make sure that she is real and indeed she is. She makes that even more clear when she pushes herself off of the wall near the door and enters the room.

Her scent perfumes the air. It is one of lavender and the lavish leather trench coat and pants she has on.

She looks around the small space for a moment then looks at the maid -

"I trust that all the stuff I left is packed and prepared to leave with me."

The maid bows her head - "It is."

"Then what are YOU still here for? Take the stuff to the car." with that the maid leaves Candle and I alone.

She leaves the basket with the stained sheets too. When Candle notices it she does not even attempt to mask her contempt.

It shows in her scowl as she spits out the venomous words I most avoided. "He took what he wanted from YOU and left did he not?"

"No. He did not leave. In fact he wants me to meet his parents."

"The same parents that killed YOUR parents? Have fun." She smiles then heads out the door before I can even respond.

I remain stuck in place for a moment as her words sink in. If not for the knock at the door, I would have remained frozen like that. I look at the door. I expect to see Caterina but instead I see an unfamiliar old woman with GUARDS on either side of her.

I scan her for a brief moment. Her dark GREY hair is pulled into a neat bun that resembles her prestine pressed clothed. She smiles at me. "I am Doctor Liliana LaGuardia."

"LaGuardia?" I repeat her last name in shock. "You are-"

"His mother." She finishes - casual about the whole situation. "Can I come in?"

"Of course." I respond. She orders the GUARDS to remain outside before she enters the room. When she shuts the door behind her, the room feels a hundred if not a thousand times smaller in size.

It takes a moment for me to fathom the fact that I am in the same room as his mother. The woman who bore and raised him to be what he is - sometimes cold and other times warm. I can see it in her too. That quick shift in emotion.

She had a smile on before and now she is as stoic as a monk. I cannot help but hold a breath as she places a briefcase onto the bed and opens it. It is full of needles and all sorts of medecine.

I wonder what each of them does but I wonder even more if I trust her. If she wants she can murder me like she murdered mom and dad. Oh God. She starts to fill one of the needles with medecine and when she is done she turns to me.

I swallow hard before I take a few steps back. Words come out of her mouth but it all turns to a blur as the room closes in on me. I black out.

Voices call out to me from what I percieve to be a distance. A distance that diminishes and diminishes until I open my eyes to the face that hovers over me. His mother. She does not beat about the bush when she opens her mouth to speak - "ARE YOU PREGNANT?"
