I have been a fan of Lestat's music since the day I heard his first album in 1985, there was something about his voice and that intrigued me. But what I really understood was the message in each song, he was singing about how he felt. Lestat was singing about how lonely he once was and how he wanted to find someone to spend eternity with, as well as how certain things angered him. That was what I found to be the most intriguing, that he had the courage to sing about how he felt and he wasn't afraid to say it.

His music has helped me through so many dark times in my life and I was pretty much in the same place that he was. When I had absolutely nothing else, and everything was taken from me, his music was what kept me going and it saved me in ways I can't explain. My cousin told me that many of his fans were writing to him. When she told me this I knew I had to do it, I wanted to tell Lestat how much his music means to me. So, I wrote a letter to the rockstar himself.

Dear Lestat,

My name is Y/N, and I live here in Los Angeles. I know a lot of your fans tell you that they love your music all the time and I'm sure your overwhelmed by it all. I understand what it's like when everyone wants to get their hands on you when they see that you are good looking, talented, and popular. I didn't write this letter to tell you that because you already know. But I'm not one of those die hard fans, I'm one of those fans who really appreciates what you do. I wanted to tell you that your music has helped me through a very dark time in my life. I lost my mother when I was younger and my dad was killed in combat over seas. Losing them really took a toll on my life, and I felt like I was alone without them. Even though I live with my Aunt and my cousin, who are really sweet and caring it wasn't enough. I struggled with the thought of staying alive, I wanted to join my parents in death so many times. But that all changed when my cousin introduced me to your music. When I heard you sing "Forsaken" I had this connection to the lyrics. It was as if you were telling me that you were going through the same thing and I wasn't the only one. It gave me something to live for. Since then I've been listening to your songs to keep me going, you always make my day no matter what is going on in my life. With that being said, I would like to say thank you. Thank you for saving my life. Without you I wouldn't be here today.

With love and respect,

Your Fan, Y/N L/N

I sealed it in an envelope and addressed it to Lestat. Hoping he would read it.

I stood by the fireplace, watching the flames. I sighed and grabbed the picture of Jesse. I stared at her photo. I missed her, it was a shame that she was gone. I felt I would never see her again. Of course I have fans that love my rock music but I'm afraid it's not enough. I placed Jesse's picture back on top of the fireplace. Before I could leave the room I heard footsteps approach me. I sighed. "Roger." I said as I turned around. "I told you I do not wish to be disturbed." I said. Roger nodded. "I know Lestat, I apologize but I came to give you this." he said and handed me an envelope. I took it from him. I turned it over and scoffed. "Another fan letter." I muttered. I looked back at Roger. "Thank you Roger, now leave me." I said. Roger nodded and left. I walked over to the couch and sat down, opening the letter. Expecting it was another girl telling me how much she loved me, wanted to get her hands me, and tell me how handsome I am. I like that of course but it is something I hear too much. It overwhelms me. I took the piece of paper and opened it. I began to read it. As I read it I realized it was different from all the other letters I had received from fans. This girl in particular spoke of how my music saved her life, I had never heard such a thing before. I never knew I had caused something like this. I smiled to myself. "I saved her life." I thought. The idea of it made me feel all the more special.

I set the letter on the coffee table in front of me, got up, and walked over to my desk. I took a piece of paper and a pen and I wrote a reply to this young girl. Once I was finished I placed the letter in an envelope, along with VIP tickets to my upcoming concert in Los Angeles. I sealed it and addressed it to her. I gave the letter to Roger and sent him to deliver the letter. This girl really intrigued me and I must see her in person. To tell her that I am glad to have changed her life.

(Your P.O.V)

My cousin came running towards me with something in her hands. "Y/N!!" she squealed. I looked up from my phone. "What is it?" I asked as I sat up. She took a second to catch her breath. "Lestat wrote back to you!" she said. Her eyes all lit up as she handed me the letter. My heart started pounding. I looked at the address. My eyes lit up. "He answered me!" I said excitedly. I opened the letter and took out the letter he wrote to me. I read it aloud.

Dearest Y/N,

Words cannot describe how much your message had touched me, I never knew that something I created could save the life of a young girl such as yourself. I became a rockstar, expecting only to be loved for my music but I never expected something like this. I am forever grateful for your message. I also want to express my condolences for your parents, I know what it means to lose someone you love. I am glad my music helped you through that dark time. Attached to this letter are two VIP tickets to my upcoming concert in Los Angeles. I would very much like to meet you in person ma chere.

With love,

Lestat de Lioncourt

I blushed when I read the words ma chere which meant my dear in french.I took out the VIP tickets and my eyes widened. "I can't believe it!" I said. "I know!" my cousin added. Lestat heard me, he had gotten my message and now I'm going to see him in person. I'm really looking forward to this! I'm going to meet the one who saved my life, my hero, The Vampire Lestat.
