You burst into the room. The door banged hard against the wall and slammed itself behind you as you rushed to a stop. Narrowing your eyes you looked at the rather startled Ollie then at Alfie who looked rather smug at your sudden appearance.
"Can we help you?" Alfie asked as he kept his eyes fixed on you. A wave of embarrassment washed over you. It was quickly chased by the thought that maybe he had planned everything. It would be hard for you to avoid admitting your feelings now.
"I just... heard a rumor. Wanted to check on it." You said quickly and turned, hoping to leave. Alfie tutted and when you glanced at him, over your shoulder, he was smiling.
"What rumor?" He asked curiously.
"Someone fixing your description was shot and died early this morning. I simply want to check if it was true or not." You huffed. There was a tone of irritation to your voice, as if you hopped it would hide that you'd worried for Alfie.
He grinned as he leant back in his chair. "Do I look dead to you?!" You didn't respond to Alfie's comment, huffing as you shook your head and left his office. You could hear him chuckling as you headed down the corridors.
