As the “devil” commanded, Jungkook stayed home the next day. Even though he didn’t set his alarm, he woke up early. He made a cup of coffee, took an ice pack, and sat in the living room. He slipped the ice pack into its protective clothing and pressed it against his peroneal to his left leg.

He could use this day to rest since it would be good for his leg as well, but the unfairness still smothered him. Eunhyuk treated him so badly since day one. All Jungkook did was tell him he was a hypocrite, and he got a “day off”. He was a teacher, though, and he knew he had crossed the line. But how could he respect a teacher who didn’t respect him?

Jihoon entered the classroom with his signature warm smile. “Good morning, guys.” He opened the attendance book and started calling their names. He frowned at Jungkook’s absence, but continued until he called the last name. “Does someone know where Jungkook is?”

The trainees shared baffled looks. “I’m sorry, you don’t know that Mr. Lee gave him a day off? So lucky,” a boy said.

“Yeah, a day off with nonattendance in every class. How lucky indeed,” Jimin sneered.

“What?” Jihoon blinked in bewilderment, brows firmly drawn together. “Start practicing my choreography. I’ll be right back.” He slammed the attendance book against his desk, causing some trainees to jolt.

He rushed to the teacher’s lounge and rammed the door open. “You gave him a day off?” he roared.

“Oh, hey, Jihoon-ah,” Eunhyuk said, completely unaffected by his thunderous voice.

“Yah!” He banged the door closed and approached his desk. “Are you kidding me? You can’t do that!”

“Of course I can. He made a scene in front of everyone, and I had to punish him somehow.”

“No, actually, you can’t do that, and you know it. I’m the one who can make these decisions. You didn’t even consult me.”

Eunhyuk let his head hang with a sigh. “Okay, you’re right. I should have consulted you. I’m sorry.”

Jihoon analyzed his remorseful countenance in utter shock. “What? You’re... sorry?”

“Yes.”

“You’re never sorry.”

Eunhyuk stared at him in dull condemnation. “Just because I don’t say it doesn’t mean I’m never sorry.”

“Okay, cut the bullshit. Why did you give him a day off? The real reason.”

A frustrated sigh burst out of Eunhyuk’s mouth. “I told you—”

“Yah! The real reason. Now.”

“Why are you nagging me? He made a scene, called me a hypocrite, even raised his voice to me. These are enough reasons. He’ll even get to rest, so I really don’t understand why you’re so pissed off at me.”

Jihoon’s eyes became rounder as realization struck him. “You didn’t give him a day off because you wanted to punish him.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Eunhyuk muttered, avoiding eye contact.

“You... You cared about him,” he breathed out as a fond smile budded on his features.
