Jungkook and Taehyung didn’t share a word between them in their first two classes the following day, and Eunhyuk also didn’t even glance at him.Finished with their second class, the seven friends settled in the cafeteria and made small talk as they eat. Jungkook wasn’t interested in whatever they talked about, though; his eyes kept wandering towards Taehyung, who was sitting across from him, but he didn’t raise his head from his tray.
“So Jungkook, how was your little date yesterday with Jaebum?” Jimin asked, grasping his attention.
Taehyung rolled his eyes insensibly at Jimin’s question.
“It wasn’t a date. We just talked, nothing else.”
“Just talked?” Seokjin questioned.
“Yeah, I told him I didn’t want to continue what we were doing or whatever.”
The new information gripped at Taehyung’s muscles and enlarged his eyes just a notch. He composed himself quickly.
“Wow, what changed your mind? Did he do something?” Jimin asked.
“No, he didn’t do anything. He’s such a nice guy.” Jungkook glanced at the boy across from him, and a tinge of vexation seeped into his eyes at the indifference he detected on his face. “I just realized it’s not what I want.”
Taehyung’s movements rested for a second, then he guzzled his next bite, as if nothing happened.
“Good.” Seokjin presented a warm smile to him. “You should be with someone you truly want, Kook.”
“I know.”
They finished eating with a talk about their choreographies and headed towards the classroom since they had another class with Eunhyuk.
During class, Eunhyuk was harsh on everyone except Jungkook. He ignored him again, as if he didn’t exist. Although Jungkook seemed to have escaped from his vicious scolding, it bothered him more to be ignored like this.
“Your energy today was awful,” Eunhyuk said as soon as the class ended. “Leave.”
As everyone heeded to his order, Jungkook nailed Eunhyuk with a hesitant stare. He couldn’t smother his curiosity and that nagging feeling in his gut anymore, and so he drew closer to him.
“What is it again?”
“Did I do something?”
Eunhyuk ceased his movement of placing his laptop in his bag and glanced up at him. “What?”
“I know when you were harsh on me I hated it, but this is worse.”
“What did I do?”
“Nothing! That’s the problem. It’s like I don’t even exist.”
“Jungkook, I can’t deal with you too.” A sonorous sigh flowed out of his mouth as he gathered his things. “Think whatever you want.”
Jungkook frowned as he watched him leave. He’s such a jerk. With this thought, he headed to the changing room. He washed his face, changed his clothes, and went outside to the yard. He sat on a bench alone instead of finding the others, as his mind was a mayhem of dizzying thoughts. And he got lost in them so easily.
