"Life it seems to fade away, drifting further everyday... Getting lost within myself, nothing matters no one else,"

"I don't want to say goodbye,"

I open my eyes slowly, to find Tilly shaking me awake. She's smiling sympathetically as I get up, a shiver over my skin as I pull the tie from my hair and let it tumble down, running my fingers through it. I slept on a bench in the break room, being woken up on and off for patients. She hands me a bottle of water and I drink thirstily, her handing me a bowl of some pasta stuff that I eat without tasting, almost mechanical.

"Who needs what?"

"We're on dressing changes, infection checks, restock of drugs, discharge..." I groan at the growing list before nodding, pushing away the empty plate and drinking the last of the water.

"Then lets get started,"

"Kylo Ren has been asking for you," She says as we get up, her following me out onto the floor and I sigh.

"Musn't keep his lordship waiting," I roll my eyes and she suppresses a smile.

"That smart mouth will get you in trouble one day,"

"My mums been saying that since I was knee high to a grass hopper," Tilly chuckles as I grin at her, following her to the front.

"I'll take beds 1-9, you take 10-19," I say and she nods, us splitting up as we head for our first patients of the day.

It's a lengthy process, time consuming to say the least. I reach bed 4 and frown deeply, my brow furrowing as I find it empty.

"Tilly? You got a sec?"

"Yeah whats up?" She comes over as I stare down at the bed.

"Where's the kid?" I ask and Tilly sighs, looking at the empty bed.

"There was shrapnel in her blood stream. Someone missed doing her scan," Tears burn my eyes, my fists clenched in anguish. I want to tear apart who didn't do her scan, who forgot to do something so important on a child in a priority bed.

"Who?"

"Lofie, I think," I sigh hard, shaking my head. We were all on a long shift yesterday, it was horrible and it was chaos and it was heartbreaking. Mistakes happen.

"You talk to him about it?"

"Yes, he was very upset that he'd forgotten," Tilly look at me hard and I look back, daring her to try and condescend me. I'm well aware what we were under yesterday, an avalanche of constant, blood, sweat and body parts but that doesn't mean a mistake can go unchecked.

"These things can't happen Tilly, not here, not when we're the only medical wing on this whole damn thing,"

"I know, I understand," She has the good grace to look away, abashed and I sigh heavily.

"I need to do a dressing change on Kylo Ren after I finish up here," she nods.

"No problem," I nod back and we head back to it, the next hour a blur of blood, bandages and needles. Cleaning up my hands, I let myself into Kylo Rens room with the necessary materials and pause as I find him sitting up, talking to a square box in his hand, the hologram of General Hux scowling at Kylo.

"Just get it done and do it now," He snaps before hitting the top of the box, it going flat as a card, him tucking it under his pillow. I'm not interested in your stupid toy.
