The next day, I begged my mom to drop me off earlier. She was so stubborn about it, but then my dad said he'd drive me. Great.

We stopped at their coffee shop, grabbing miracle working caffeine juice ( or "coffee", if you will) and some donuts in the process. I wanted a large cup to help me cope with another cloudy and miserable day, but my dad made a medium instead. Eh, it's good enough.

My father dropped me off at the crosswalk. People were walking in from all directions of the street. I ignored that for a few minutes as the crossing guard finally me let pass through the maze of cars. I walked down the sidewalk and through the silver trimmed doors, to the hall, which was filled with lockers from ceiling to floor. I saw Allison standing idly by my locker, waiting for me. Harry came over and stood on the opposite side.

"Good Morning Katie!" they greeted, voices like an off tune chorus

"Morning"

"How's it hanging?" Harry asked

"Tired. I'm very tired. I didn't have enough coffee."

"Here have mine,"

"Uh, Harry you don't have to-"

"Take it. I don't really care, It's coffee. There's always more"

What the heck? I would never deprive someone of their coffee.

Stop thinking just take the coffee

I took the cup and scarfed down the coffee. It was really sweet, and had a hint of chocolate.

"That's good coffee,"

"It's from your coffee shop. "

"Technically my parents' coffee shop" I replied while closing my locker, a ton of books in hand.

Allison mindlessly stared at the stack of textbooks in my hands as I stroke conversation with the tall ginger. She read the covers carefully, and noticed a sticker reading "HH" at the bottom corner of the top one. She snatched it from my grip.

"Hey-"

"Here," she mumbled facing Harry

"Oh? Thanks. I thought it was with Katie," He asked, a little bothered by the sudden action.

"It was, but she's not so good at holding books, so I'm helping out by lightening the load." she chuckled, clearly lying.

"I'm right here, Allison" I spat back

Then he laughed.

"Uh huh," Harry continued, "And that's coming from the one who trips over her shoelaces 10 billion times a day" he joked to Allison

"It's not my fault they always come loose!" she whined

I rolled my eyes. I opened the door and we entered our science classroom.
