"It's a little early to be planting again, ain't it?"

Jungkook's breath hitches, shoulders slightly shivering. He clears his throat to calm his skittish nerves. His bony fingers fiddled restlessly around the soil for unfurling weeds.

"I wanted to work on it before things get busy again." He replies. The omega dusts his pants before shifting his knees to another position. It made the ground crumbled under his sharp-edged trowel, some murky grit falling to his shin.

"I could help," Taehyung says. He takes hasty steps towards the omega, unfolding both sleeves only to crumple them above his elbows. "Eases the workload." He adds, bare hands digging into the soil and plucking out stubborn roots.

Jungkook doesn't bother to deny the offer. Instead, he hums a mindless tune as he takes another pot. Sweat dribbles down his skin, dampening his shirt and smudging the stains of mud on his pale complexion. Taehyung notes of his apparent restlessness, from the way he nibbles on his lips and furrows his eyebrows in feigned concentration. When he stations himself closer, a humble distance across the other, Taehyung finds Jungkook breathing heavily, nostrils flaring in a troubled manner.

"Not cute at all~" He comments. A simple jaunt to appease the younger's worries. When Jungkook doesn't budge however, he quickly drops his smile and stares back curiously. "Kook? You okay there buddy?"

"I've been thinking..." The prince is hesitant, surprising the older with his shaky voice. The sudden change in the peaceful atmosphere makes Taehyung inch forward. His arms rest near the other's fumbling ones, pressure heavy on the flushed knuckles.

"Yeah?" He urges the man to continue, tapping his fingers on muddied tips.

Jungkook continues to stare down at his collection of plucked weeds, pausing slightly as he takes in the details of each veiny root as if it were the most fascinating thing in the world. His apprehension is evident, gnawing at his throat and making him inept -but Taehyung listens closely, still patient with the younger.

Jungkook squirms under his gaze. The feel of heat crawling up to his cheeks and nape had never felt more evident.

"The castle might be a little big for one person," He finally manages to say, pulling at the ornate linings of his hand-sewn gloves. Taehyung stares ahead, straight to his face with a question painted in his own. "It could get lonely if I don't have someone with me around."

"Well," Taehyung huffs, laughing heartily. He shakes his head, the anticipation dying at the thought of Jungkook revealing anything serious. He flicks the younger's chin with a mischievous grin. "That's what you get for keeping all the glory to yourself. Look at you, making your hyungs homeless."

"Hyung!" Jungkook frowns immediately, leaning back and creating more space in between them. He drops his utensils, latching instead on his stained clothes.

"Kidding, Kidding ~"

"Well, I'm serious."

"Yeah?" Taehyung begins to stand up, moving farther to the other side but close enough to hear Jungkook's voice. "About what?" He busies himself with a trail of yellow tulips, patting the small bed of flowers.

"Hyung." Something cold and wet trickles down Taehyung's nape. He winces with a sudden jolt, eyes narrowed down to the perpetrator with a wordless disapproval. Jungkook only gazes back with a stern face, the smooth lines in his face crinkling in annoyance.

"What was that for?"

"I was talking to you." Jungkook scolds, beckoning him to come closer. Taehyung makes a noise of disbelief but he willingy complies. Alas, they're finally face to face,  knees bumping and eyes locked on each other.
