"All right, get off me now, Mothpaw! You won that round," Finpaw ordered, flat on the ground in a clearing that was in the territory. "Cut me some slack on this, will ya?"
"Okay, Mothpaw, get off of Finpaw so we can head back to camp. You guys did well for today's training," Tigerpool croaked to his apprentice, flicking his tail. Mothpaw obeyed, and made way for Finpaw to hoist himself up, and they made their way back to camp in unison. Mothpaw and Finpaw chatted the whole way back, as well as Snapjaw and Tigerpool. They seemed to be talking about some patrol stuff.
Once the undersized group of cats arrived, Finpaw was greeted by Barkpaw. On the other hand, Mothpaw was greeted by her brother, Weaselpaw, Snapjaw was greeted by Cloudwind and Snowbreeze, while Tigerpool just went to go grab a fish.
"Hello, Finpaw! How was your training? Did it go well?" Barkpaw flooded the tom with questions, causing Finpaw to wince a tad.
"It went quite well. However, Mothpaw did beat me in the ending of it. But anyways, how was your training with Owlpad?"
"It was fine, per say. I mean, we did run into a kittypet that was named 'Charlotte'," Barkpaw shrugged, puffing a sigh afterwards. "It took moons to drive here over to Thunderclan territory and back to her Twolegs. But other than that, everything was fine!"
"Well, that's good." Finpaw casted a glance over at the grumpy Jaypaw, who was scolding Firepaw for accidentally bumping into him while backing away from the clearing. "Hold on a sec, Barkpaw. I need to go separate that grump from Firepaw."
"I'll come I guess."
Both Barkpaw and Finpaw approached the oblivious Firepaw and Jaypaw before Finpaw butted in between the two. "Hey, hey. Calm it down, Jaypaw. Firepaw most likely didn't mean to do whatever she did to you, which was most likely bumping into you, so you really don't have a reason to scold her," he lectured. Jaypaw stifled a low growl at him.
"Whatever. I just wanted to think to myself in peace, but this little frog-brained piece of dung decided to ruin it for me. I should've just become a loner for StarClan's sake, so I could actually think without any abrupt interruptions," the silver tom hissed. "Of course you wouldn't understand." Jaypaw snarled at both Finpaw and Firepaw. Before trudging away, he unsheathed his claws.
Finpaw snorted. "I'll try to get him to change up a bit sometime. That way he can be friends with us, I hope." Barkpaw gave Firepaw an empathetic glance as Finpaw spoke, and would slink over, attempting to try and make the she-cat feel better about herself.
Raggedpaw soon exited the apprentices' den, the most recent location Jaypaw had headed to, and approached the minimal sized group of cats. His slanted jaw made his tone have a slight lisp as he began to speak. "What's wrong with Jaypaw now? He's more aggressive than a fox who had an animal come in between them and their pup!" Raggedpaw soon stood beside the gloomy Firepaw.
Firepaw soon hissed under her breath, and parted her jaws. "He's upset all because I slightly bumped into him while exiting the clearing. He said he wanted to 'think in peace,' and all I wanted to do was remove myself from Olivebriar's sight after her talking to me about our mother in Thunderclan." Firepaw rolled her light-dappled, dark yellow eyes at the 'think in peace' part. She knew Jaypaw hated everything and everyone, but she felt like he despised her the most out of every cat in the forest.
Raggedpaw's ears flattened. "Quite ridiculous, if I do say so myself. But hey, don't let him get to your heart, Firepaw. He's just an agitated badger who needs to be left alone," the crooked-jawed apprentice shrugged, his scratchy pelt shaking a tad. "I don't know, maybe he's just the bitter lone wolf."
