Shars Pov
As luck would have it I was running back in the direction of the nursery. The child has stopped screaming mindlessly and got one more scream out for help before everything was ominously quite.
As I ran I couldn’t help but picture the worst case scenarios for the health of the child. I came to a corridor just before the nursery and realised someone had nabbed the kid and taken them down a dark passage.
I know it sounds cliché, I remember many books that use the line I just used and in a different situation I would have laughed. I could see a figure hunched over a terrified child and realised this person wasn’t there to help.
I didn’t know how to fight so I didn’t have a chance with this man. I wasn’t giving up just yet. As I approached the intruder I noticed the statue on the wall behind him.
I realised that the statue had to weigh about 20 kilos which would surly knock him out. The only problem would be pushing it over on him before I am noticed.
I tip toed down the hall with my finger on my lip to signal to the little boy to stay quiet and not give me away. I had finally creped behind the statue, just as the man in front of the young boy raised his hand.
This gave me the strength to push the statue over to clunk the intruder in the head causing his body to hit the floor with a loud thump.
Rushing over to the little boy I ran my hands over him to make sure he was injured. Thankfully her didn’t flinch and jumped into my arms. I caught him and started to walk down the hall when he pulled back and looked me in the face.
“Thank you so much for saving me.” The little boy said while looking at me with his baby blue eyes I was dying under. Coupled with the brown hair I was instantly in love.
“We can’t leave yet please.” The boy begged me and I looked at him confused before he continued. “My baby sister is hiding in the room just up ahead I was trying to distract the guy”
Looking at the room up ahead I decided there wasn’t any trouble in looking inside to see if his sister was there. With this decision I pushed the boys head back into my neck and approached the door.
As I pushed it open I came across a cot with a baby swaddled in a purple blanket. Seeing this I set the adorable boy, whose name I haven’t found out, down and picked the baby girl up before placing her in her brother’s arms.
After doing this I picked the boy up again and made a run for the front yard.
The threat had been eliminated approximately 1 and a ½ hours later, turns out that someone had planted an explosive in a place it would highly affect the pack. The nursery.
The young boy hasn’t left my side since I got them out of the house. I have grown attached to him, he is such an innocent soul and as of yet I haven’t been able to find their parents.
More accurately as I haven’t found my mates and don’t know anybody in the pack well enough; no one has approached me to take responsibility of the children.
Eventually I sat the boy down and had a talk.
“What’s your name?” I asked in a curious manner
“My sister is missy and my name is Mathew” he said while looking me directly in the eyes.
“Well Mathew may I ask where your parents or guardians are?” I asked apologetically fearing I already knew the answer.
“Mum and Dad well they went to a better place a long time ago, now we live in a house full of other kids who have lost their parents as well. It’s not sad Madam looks after us really well but its not the same. I’ll always want someone to love and to be y second Mum or Dad.”
The boy had twisted my heart and had my wrapping him in a massive bear hug in hopes to dim some of the hurt visible in his eyes.
