"The very first time that I saw your brown eyes, your lips said hello and I said Hi/I knew right then you were the one" - Shai
We all walk into Javion's home. His house is one of the chill spot's for the neighborhood. Probably because none of his parent's are ever home. The used to be all white carpets are now tan and the walls have dents in them from long ago fights. The house smells like dust. To be reral this place is disgusting but, people love to chill here none the less. Javion is laid out on one of the couches with his boxers and a wife beater. He's watching TV. The same thing I was before I left my house. "Wessup." He greets sitting up. We all greet him back. I sit down on the couch. "Bruh, we almost got busted by the cops." Capri starts. I tune out of the conversation and start playing a racing game on my phone. I look up as someone sits down beside me. It's Davon Sheiffield. He goes to my school and let me tell ya, he is something fine. He always has a fresh cut, unlike the boys who pease up their hair. His shoe game is something to be aware of and his car is a black BMW. People in this neighborhood don't usually have these things. I look back down at my phone. I'm peeping glances at him when he's not looking. He's polo down today with the White Tee shirt, white and navy blue Polo shorts and the Gamma 11's. He looks over at me. I can feel his eyes looking. I bite my bottom lip. That's what I do when I'm nervous. "Wassup?" he says, still looking at me. Oh Jesus. I look up slowly. "Hello." I say, wiggling my fingers at him. "You not gone say wassup back?" He asks, smilimg. His smile is really gorgeous and he has a set of straight white teeth. Damn. I smile a little. "What's your name?" He asks. "Karma." I say, looking down. "That's a sexy name." He says. I smile a little again. Davon never talked to me before. He has a lot of friends so why would he even? "Thank you."
The others are still talking about how Samaria almost got us caught. I would be on my phone minding my own business, but Devon is now engrossed in a full conversation with me. "You go to Brookesville?" He asks. That's the name of our high school. "Yeah. I've seen you around school." I tell him. "I ain't never saw you at school...I should have." he says. He think he's so smooth. "What grade are you in?" He asks. "Twelfth." He's in the twelfth, too. "So am I!" he says, happily. I giggle because, he has a child like happiness. It's kinda cute. "You should chill with me at school. You're really cute." He offers. He hangs with the most well known kids at school. I'm known but not that KNOWN. I really wouldn't mind. "Sure thing Davon." I say casually, like Its no big deal. I go back to playing my game like he's not there. "So you tuning me out?" Davon says. I try to hide my smile but it's funny because I am trying to tune him out. "Nah." I lie. I can feel his eyes on me. I get up and go into the kitchen. I sit down at the table and play my game.
Fifteen minutes passed when I see Davon come into the kitchen. "I thought you left, Karma." He says. "No. I just wanted some quiet." I mumble. "Oh, so I'm annoying you?" He says. I feel bad for saying that. "No, no. We can finish talking." I say. It's obvious he doesn't want to talk to anybody else except me. I don't know why I'm bucking. He sits down in the opposite chair and stares at me. "You got any siblings?" He asks. "Nope. I'm an only child." "Oh. I have a little brother. He's five." Davon says. "Aw! I always wanted a little brother." I say. "Yeah. He's bad, though. he has a smart ass mouth." Davon explains. "You need to beat his behind." I say. Davon stops and listens to their conversation. "Javion can talk his ass off." Davon says. "Yeah, them two front teeth ain't stopping him one bit." I say without thinking. Davon busts out laughing. He's laughing like I said the funniest thing in the world. Not a forced laugh but a genuine one. His laugh is really cute. I laugh along, too. "Your funny, Karma." he says after he finally gets hisself together. When I'm being serious, people think I'm being funny. "The pleasure's all mine." I say. Capri comes into the room. He gives us a weird look before he speaks. "We're going home. Mom's is tripping. Come on K." I give Davon a quick glance before getting up to go. He grabs my wrist. "What's your number?" He asks. I grab a sheet of paper that was sitting on the table and scribble my number down. Davon has a sexy grin on his face. I give him the paper. He holds on to my hand a little longer than he should have. I grin back.

When I get home I hear my mom and her boyfriend who I don't like kissing in the kitchen. I was hungry, but now I lost my appetite. As long as my mother is happy I should be too, but it's something about ole boy that I don't like. I sit down on my bed and think about Davon. I've always had a crush on him since ninth grade. I can't believe that we even had a conversation. He was always too cool to care. It's funny how things work out...
