More Than Life

Chapter Three

Third Person

The first night there was so amazing for her, she had gotten to be able to kick it with them and didn't have to worry about much except for checking on her son and he slept through the night with no accidents. Now it's her last day here and she was a little sad that she was leaving but she knew she'd have to go home at some point.

She was now cooking lunch for the boys because they slept through breakfast. Blake was playing with his toys in the kitchen while she was cooking them something to eat. She was dancing around the kitchen when she heard someone laugh. She saw Colson standing there watching her dance.

"I made lunch for you guys because you all slept through breakfast. There is a lot of it" She said

"You didn't have to make us lunch, Dani"

"I wanted to because I know you guys don't actually eat home cook meals and I thought I would be thoughtful"

He smiled and yelled for all the boys to come eat and they all dugged in and Dani sure was happy she got Blake some food before the boys came down because when they all sat around the table to eat there was nothing left.

Dani went up to Blake and her room to just chill with Blake while the boys all ate and talked about new and upcoming music and she didn't want to intrude plus Blake had a small fever going on and she didn't want the boys to get sick when they had a tour coming up. Sometime while they were laying there they both had fallen asleep and she was woken up by someone knocking on her door.

"Come In!" She said

She saw Colson walk in to her room and saw a smile on his face

"We were getting worried about you two because when we finished eating we were going to ask you if you wanted to go out back with us while Blake played in the backyard" He said

"I'm sorry, I didn't want to bother you guys while you talked about the new music and plus Blake had a small fever this morning and didn't want to chance it since you guys have tour coming up in a couple weeks"

"You wouldn't have bothered us if you listened in on the conversation. You really could of just given us feedback on the songs if you liked them or disliked them" Colson said

Dani just nodded at him and looked down to see Blake still asleep, she didn't want to leave him in here alone while she went to go get something to drink from the kitchen.

"Can you sit with Blake while I go get something to drink from the kitchen?"
"Yes, I got him. Why don't you grab something to eat as well. You haven't eaten since lunch and it is almost 7 now" Colson said

She headed downstairs to get some food and something to drink and once she finished making the food, she grabbed her drink and headed upstairs with both in hand and walked into her room to see Blake on Colson's chest as they both slept soundly and Dani couldn't help but smile at the picture. She put it as her lockscreen and walked out of the room to let them both sleep.

At around 10:30 Colson came downstairs with an awakened Blake who still looked like he didn't feel good. She took him from Colson and he fell asleep again.

"My poor baby is definitely sick. He only sleeps like this when he is sick"
"If you'd be more comfortable at your home we can fly out you out one day early and get you guys home to his local doctor"

"I should probably do that because I need to make sure everything is okay for him and he isn't getting more sicker" She said

"What do you mean sicker?"

"When Blake was around 3 months old he had develop heart cancer and we had to get his heart replaced and it suppose to last him 4 years and well he's about to be four in a couple of weeks so his heart could be going" Dani said

Colson didn't speak for a minute and just looked at her

"Los Angeles has the best doctors in the United States do you want to take him to the hospital and get him looked at and I can help pay for it if you want me too"

"I can get him checked out but I won't take your money in order to get him a heart. I can figure it out myself" Dani said

"Hey, don't get mad at me. I was just trying to help you out, Dani" Colson said and sighed

"I'm sorry, I just feel like you've done so much for me and I don't want you to think that all I want is your money which I don't want by the way" She said as she looked up at him

"Dani from the past few days we've know each other and gotten to know about each other is that you not a fan anymore you are more of a friend than anything and I'd do anything for you and Blake"

Dani knew what he said was true because of the look on his face when he explained that to her. Dani knew that Blake's father doesn't have the money due to him being in prison and her father definitely has the money but she would never ask him for it because she knows he works hard for his money.

"I'm going to go call them and set up an appointment with the doctors to get Blake checked out. When I make this appointment would you be willing to go with me?"

"Of course I will go with you"

Dani went off to go call the doctors while Colson sat next to a sleeping Blake and smiled down at him. He was so cute to Colson, Blake was more like his mother in many ways, he was smart, kind and loving and at times he could have his father's temper but that was rare when it came to Blake.

"I have an appointment tomorrow morning at 10am with a doctor named Dr. Bailey"

"I've heard of her and I know she's amazing, she was the one who was there when my father got cancer" 

 Dani sat down on the couch and pulled Blake into her praying it wasn't his heart that was failing him and he just had a cold that was making him extremely tired.
