Chapter Four

Colson was on the couch waiting for Dani to come down so they could take Blake to his appointment today and get his heart looked at today. Colson was so scared for Blake and worried and sad for Dani. He knew that if Blake was sick all of the time Dani would be with Blake no matter what and Colson knows he would do the exact same thing as Casie in this situation.

Blake was finally ready to go and Colson put him in the car and headed towards the hospital with a nervous Dani and a smiling Blake who thought nothing of it. Once they had arrived at the hospital, Dani got him out of the car and got him up to the floor they needed to be on and waited.

"Blake Jacobs?" A nurse called

They all went back to the room to wait for the doctor to come in and talk to Dani. The nurse did the routine things she was supposed to do and left them all alone while the nurse talked to the doctor. Dani didn't want to let Blake go but she knew once the doctor came in the doctor had to check him out and run all these tests on him.

"Colson, I'm scared that his heart is failing and that I might lose my baby. Oh my god what if we only have 3 months left with him" Dani said all panicky

"Woah calm down Dani we don't know if that is the case or not. Don't get to far ahead of yourself, he could be completely fine and just has a common cold"

Dani breathed out and nodded thinking that maybe he was right. When the doctor finally came in and Dani gripped Colson hand tightly

"HI Blake! I'm Dr. Bailey and I will check out your heart today and make sure everything is looking alright. How does that sound?"

Blake just nodded and Bailey went to take a look at his heart while Blake looked over at his mom. Blake knew his mom was scared for him but he knew he wouldn't leave her without putting up a fight.

"Blake's heart is slowly not working and he is going to need a transplant. We can get him on the donor list and when a heart comes up we can get him prepped and ready for surgery. He is going to get weak and be very exhausted. Do you have anyone who will be there to help you through this?" She asked

"She has me and I'm going to support and help her every step of the way no matter what" Colson said before Dani could say anything

"Awe, he's a keeper Mrs Jacobs" Bailey said

"It isn't Jacobs anymore it's been put back as Hayes" Dani said

Colson looked at her confused until he put the pieces together that she was at one point married to Blake's father.

"Thank you Doctor for your time. We are going to take Blake home now and let him get some rest. He's looking a little bit tired" Dani said

Doctor Bailey left the room and Dani took Blake home and knew she had to go see her ex to tell him what is happening with their son. Dani had let Blake go and play for a little bit before lunch and she and Colson sat down on the couch.

"He isn't even four yet and he could fucking die" Dani said

"They will find a heart for him and he will be good again and back to himself in no time"

"I have to go see his father to tell him what is happening to Blake"

"Do you want me to come with you?"

"Please, I don't want to take blake alone to go see his father"

Colson nodded and they just sat on the couch in silence just listening to Blake playing knowing that he'll be getting worse soon.
