Ren's Trauma and choice

Ren p.o.v
I was in my room polishing my weapons Nora was jumping on the bed happily while asking why Jaune comes back so late. Pyrrha looked out the window saying that she's sure Jaune has a good reason for coming back so late. Nora then reminds us about the field trip to Forever Fall we had coming in 2 days and began to talk about the all the syrup she could drink when she was there. I then said that.

Ren:we can't do that Nora. Don't you remember what Ms. Goodwitch said she told us to take the sap back to her not eat it.

Nora sighs and stops jumping and lays down on the with her arms and legs sprawled out.

Nora:your right Ren, but she didn't say anything about eating the syrup after handing her the jugs of syrup.

Ren:I guess your right Nora but I'm still not letting you it's not good for your health.

Nora:what are you talking about Ren. Every time I eat syrup I feel full of energy that my hearts feels like it's having a heart attack.

Ren:exactly Nora heart attacks aren't good they can kill you.

Nora:I don't see any heart attacks killing me yet. Anyways it's almost curfew I've been wondering what you guys have been dreaming of. Because I think my dreams I have been pretty weird lately.

Pyrrha:well my dreams seem to be pretty normal actually.

Nora:oh yeah, and what are those dreams exactly.

As Nora continued to interrogate Pyrrha about her dreams I sat there not moving. I had stopped polishing my weapons as I remembered what my dreams have been about for the past few days. And I then suddenly remember Ruby talking about y/n being a good person to talk about your problems. And I clearly knew I had a problem that weighed down on me and y/n has earned my trust and I also trust Ruby. So I stand up and place my weapons back in their case and tell Nora and Pyrrha I was returning my weapons to my locker and they just nod. I walked to the locker room and placed my stuff into it and stopped by y/n's room. I then knock 2 times and y/n opened the door now dressed in his pajamas. I asked him if I could come in and he lets me in and I sit on his chair while he sat on his bed. He asks me why I'm here and I begin to explain why I'm here. He looks surprised probably because he was surprised that Ruby saw him as a really good psychiatrist. But then he looks at me and tells me to talk about the dreams I had recently. I sigh and say.

Ren:well the dreams have been related to my past.

Y/n:are they good dreams or are they bad dreams Ren.

Ren:they are bad dreams y/n.

Y/n:why are they bad dreams Ren.

Ren:they are bad because they replay the events on what happened to my village during a Grimm invasion.

Y/n looked at me with understanding and placed a hand on my shoulder and said.

Y/n:I understand where your coming from Ren my village was also invaded by Grimm. And while we all didn't die a lot of people died including my father.

Ren:I see, I'm sorry for your lost.

Y/n:thank you, but this talk isn't about me Ren. It's about you and these dreams you've had. So please continue on with your dreams.

Ren:well my dreams have also showed me when my mother was crushed by some wood a Grimm knocked down. And then it would show me when my father was carrying me away from the Grimm only for him to stop running and putting me down. My father then told me to keep running without him I didn't want to but he had to save the other people getting attacked by Grimm. He was after all one of the village's guards, and when he turned around and shot arrows toward the Grimm I ran and I could still hear him yelling. His yelling sounded like he was wasn't afraid but I knew he was because of the look he gave me before I ran away. His eyes were filled with fear and everything was playing the same way except for one part.

Y/n:and that part was?

Ren:I didn't meet Nora under that house I hid under. I was all alone under there with a nevermore right above the house screeching and my semblance activated and hid me from the Grimm. And when all the Grimm left I walked out of the hiding place and saw that no one was in Kuroyuri anymore it was only me. I was all alone and I began to walk out the village all alone and that's where the dream ended.

Y/n:so let me get this straight, you originally met Nora as a kid right.

Ren:yes I did.

Y/n:how exactly.

Ren:she had no parents and lived on the streets and stole from people. But I never talked to her because I was afraid but when I met her under that house that's when I began to talk to her.

Y/n:So everything in this dream retold the same events except for Nora meeting you.

Ren:yes

Y/n:well dreams mean a lot of things Ren even nightmares mean different. But the most logical answer to this is that you have PTSD Ren. And the part where you didn't mean Nora I think that was your brain telling you something.

Ren:what do you mean.

Y/n:well first to prove my theory I need to know why you became a huntsmen Ren.

Ren:I became a huntsman because I wanted to avenge my parents by killing that Grimm that started the entire invasion. Whatever it takes.

Y/n:even if it means dying.

Ren:yes

Y/n:even if it means leaving Nora all alone in the world.

And in that moment I froze. I hadn't even thought of what would happen to Nora if I had died. And I struggled to find an answer, I had to choose to avenge my family and probably die or don't avenge them and stay with Nora.

Y/n:I see you can't make a decision Ren. That proves my theory Ren your left brain which is the more logical part is saying that you should avenge your family. While your right brain which is the more emotional part is saying that you shouldn't leave Nora alone. So tell me Ren which one would you choose.

Ren:I don't know.

Y/n:well Ren I've done what I can now it's your turn to choose.

Ren:Thank you for giving me your time y/n.

Y/n:your welcome Ren and have a good night.

I walked out of the room as he opened the door and walked down the hall still having not decided which to choose. Nora or my family.

yes I know the past chapters haven't been filled with anything action packed. But I want to try and give some of the important side characters some development. But please don't forget this is my first time giving them some development so it may be bad. And so that's why I need you guys to give me back some feedback about some of the character developments. The next few chapters will be about Forever Fall but I may include another character for character development.
