Settling in at the prison was difficult, at first.

It wasn't just that they were in a completely new place, somewhere Juno and her family had never been to before, but there were so many people.

In the months since everything all started, Juno had never seen so many people at once. It had always just been them. Her mother, her father and her two little sisters. That was all.

And that had been good. Juno knew her family; she was comfortable with them. She could speak without becoming nervous, without getting dizzy or nauseous.

Her social anxiety hadn't really shown itself, but when Juno and her family entered the gates to the prison and were met with the stares of dozens, she could feel the anxiety starting to fester underneath her skin.

She wasn't sure if this was better than just being out there with her family, anxiety on the down-low, but never fully gone.

After they had been introduced to everyone and finally got their own - not really - rooms, the first meeting with another human being that wasn't her family had happened.

Juno had been attempting to clean her bed, the only one in the room. Most cells had bunk beds, but her cell only had one. It must've been used for other things before Rick's group came in and made it theirs.

While she wiped down the creases, a soft knock sounded on the wall and her head nearly snapped with how fast she turned it to the sound. Despite being safe, every sudden noise made Juno jump.

The girl in front of her wasn't much older than her, it seemed like. Her hair was blonde and her eyes were kind. Still, Juno could feel her breathing pick up and her hands felt sweaty.

"Hi. I didn't mean to startle you. Just wanted to introduce myself." The girl said, a small smile on her face. Her accent was thick - thicker than Juno had heard in a while.

Opening her mouth, Juno wanted to say hi back. Just say something, at least. But all that came out was a sort of whimpering noise and she just froze up.

The girl frowned, either confused or concerned, or both. "You okay?"

Juno wished furiously for one of her sisters or even her father to come save her, because her hands were shaking and she didn't know what to do. Frustrated tears prickled in her eyes.

Just when the girl was going to ask something else, little Mika entered the conversation as if she'd always been there.

Mika smiled at the other girl, before grabbing her sister's hand. "Hello! My name's Mika. What's yours?"
