"You two seem to be getting on well" Rhys says to me.
"Are we not supposed to be?" I ask, making him chuckle in response.
We enter the house in comfortable silence, Rhys having to slow his pace a bit because of my height.
It had a basic interior, nothing outstanding, simple furnishings, with well worn rugs and sofas. Rhys stops in the doorway.
"Do you remember this place? You were so young when mother brought you here. You wouldn't let her leave you with Father." I turn to look at him and notice a glazy look in his eyes.
"Whenever I would come see mother between training you wouldn't leave me alone, you'd even chase after me when I left, and I had to carry you back." He laughs, "sometimes you came out during the day and tried to train with Cass, Az and I, even though we hated each other."
I let out a little laugh, "sounds like something I would do."
We move further into the house and he leads me up the stairs, and into one of the rooms, it had nothing in it except a bed and a dresser, it obviously wasn't made for someone to be there for a long time, that or they didn't think people needed anything other than the basics, which was good I guess, considering that's all I have.
I walked in and sat on the bed, stroking the duvet as I look around, still assessing the exits, aka the door or window but you know, always safe to check. There was little light in the room as the window was small and the sun was already setting. I lit a candle without thinking, creating shadows on the walls. I don't know why but the shadows gave me comfort.
I look up to Rhys and see him staring at the flame, "I didn't know you could do that."
"I don't even know what I can do." I answer honestly.
"Well, we'll work on that when all of this is settles."
I nod silently in response, turning back to study the shadows. I feel Rhys come and sit next to me and I hesitantly lean into him, craving some warmth after having removed my jacket for the fight earlier. After a few moments I relax into him, still not taking my eyes off of the moving shadows.
After a while my eyes begin to drift close, I try to keep them open and realise that I am either hallucinating or am actually seeing new shadows closer to my face. Az. I finally let myself relax, knowing that with the both of them here I'll be okay. With the feel of the shadows brushing over my face I fall into a dreamless sleep.

I wake up slowly, hearing whispers from other rooms. I open my eyes groggily and stretch, sitting up and beginning to swing my legs out of the bed. Rhys must have put me in bed once I had fallen asleep thankfully, at least I don't have a cricked neck or anything, I guess. I stand and go to change into a cleaner set of clothes, putting my hair into a simple ponytail, knowing that if I brush through the dark curls all I will end up with is a frizzy lion's mane.
As I go down the stairs the voices seem to quieten. I come into the room where they are all seated and react quickly to something being thrown at me. An appreciative whistle in response leads me to believe that Cassian was the jerk to throw something at my face.
"Fast reflexes too, huh?!"
I look up and stare at him unamused.
"Breakfast?" Azriel says as he quietly hands me a cup of tea made just the way I like it and takes away the candelabra that was thrown at me, placing it back down.
"Thank you" I nod to Az, taking a sip of my tea. As he wanders off, I go to take a seat and notice Rhys glaring daggers at Cassian as Feyre tries to calm him down.
"I accept your apology Cassian." I say, making them turn to me, Cassian smirking. "Well I..."
"Here." Az interrupts, passing me a plate of something. Not paying attention to what it is I smile at him and begin to eat, not taking my eyes off of the people in the room who seem to have stopped talking.
I motion with my hand for them to continue, "don't mind me, I'm a morning person."
"We aren't going to stay here for much longer. There's a meeting we must attend with the High Lords at the Day Court." Rhys informs me.
I look around the room and begin to understand the silence, "We except me." I say, not questioning it.
"Nyx," Rhys begins as I continue to eat the food given to me.
He seems at a loss for words, not wanting to seem to coddle me but also not wanting to encourage me to come with them.
"How long?" I ask.
"Not sure yet, no more than a week."
I look at him, considering my options. I will not be left alone with my hypochondriac of a self for a week. I may not be big on people, but I am most definitely not ready for that. My mind made up I look him in the eyes, "Is there any sunscreen here? I have a feeling I might need it in the Day Court as I look around."
The shadows graze over my hands as Az carefully takes the now empty plate from my lap, as though to reassure me. I briefly move my gaze from Rhys to Az smiling once again in thanks. When I look back to Rhys I see him nod, a slight smile gracing his lips. "That can be arranged." Just like Mother, he says only to me. I give him a small smile in response and get up to go brush my teeth.
"We leave in a couple of hours" He announces to the room as I leave, walking past Azriel I see pride in his eyes as he smiles at me and I smile back, slightly confused as to why but not bothering to question it too much.
