Yuri p.o.v
"So how are things at home?" He asks, sounding interested in me.
"O-Oh, it's been around 4 months, so I've g-gotten used to things." Except that I didn't expect such a reaction from them.
"I see. I'm glad to hear that." He's really nice and makes me feel comfortable around me. I take a sip of my tea I ordered.
"So, where are you getting stuck?" I place my cup of tea on the table and look up.
"The dessert z-zone. I defeated all the mobs, but I-I didn't gain any levels and I can't beat the final boss, n-no matter what I do."
It's really frustrating, but I don't have to tell him I almost threw my controller out of my window. It was an accident by the way.
"You've put an awful lot of hours into it. But unless you level up in the previous zone you won't be able to beat the dessert zone." He explains, drinking his own coffee. I nod and grab my phone to write it down.
"M-Makes sense."
"But if you can't beat it, I'm afraid we'll have to make changes to the dessert zone." Huh?
"Am I-I the benchmark or something?" I ask curious, continuing to write the tip down on my phone.
"There aren't too many people who'll pour as much energy into games as you do. Making video games is still a business, so we need to be able to count on a certain number of players." Ahh, interesting.
"Interesting." I smile. Video games are often more difficult to make than most people think. Bugs, glitches, the difficulty of the levels etc.
The loud ringing of Natsume's phone rips me out of my thoughts.
"Azusa?" He asks confused before picking up the phone.
"Hello? Yeah it's me." He pauses, listening to Azusa.
"Huh? Tsubaki? No I don't know." Is something wrong with Tsubaki? Did something happen...He walked out of the door earlier, did something happen between Azusa and Tsubaki?
"Has he called? No, not really. Got it. If he calls-" He's cut of with the beep of the phone to indicate the call ended. "What the heck was that?" He asks to himself.
I really hope that Tsubaki is okay.
"W-What's wrong? Is Tsubaki okay?"
"Tsubaki apparently didn't come home yesterday and Azusa seems worried. Wait, do you know anything?" A small flashback of Azusa and Tsubaki flash through my head. Maybe something about...
"T-Tsubaki went out early yesterday evening and Azusa went after h-him, but...Is he okay?" He frowns. "Could it be...about that?"
"D-Do you know something?" I urge him. I want to know what happened, I want to know if Tsubaki is okay.
"Oh, well..."
"P-Please tell me."
"Well, the truth is, I heard something at work. It was about an anime show."
An anime show...did I hear them saying something about that?
"Anime s-show?" But why were they talking about that? They're are a video game company. "We're a video game company, but a lot of our projects use voice actors, too, so we hear all kinds of things through those channels." I hum.
That explains a lot.
"It hasn't been officially announced yet, so I won't name the title, but a certain anime is the reason Tsubaki got into acting and a new series got greenlit for that anime."
"I-I think they wanted to tell us something, but I don't know for s-sure." He gives me a puzzled look. "Why don't you know for sure?"
I blush softly, wending my eyes away from his stare.
"I-I got a call." He nods, accepting the answer for now.
"So ever since the news came out, Tsubaki's been saying he wants to play the lead. He's popular right now, and the producer seemed enthusiastic about it, too..."
"So T-Tsubaki..."
"But when the cast was announced, the lead had gone to another voice actor. In the end, Tsubaki wasn't chosen." You have that sometimes. Just like auditioning for plays in America, I wanted a lot, too, but sometimes other girls were better than me so I didn't get they lead role or something like that.
"O-Okay, I think I understand." He gives me another glance but continues after I drink of my tea instead.
"But that isn't everything...The voice actor that was chosen to play instead of Tsubaki was Azusa." Wh-What? I blink owlishly at him.
"W-What?"
"It's not unusual to win a different role than the one you auditioned for." He explains. "But they choose Azusa, r-right?" He nods, looking quite surprised at my answer. "Yes. I won't say I'm entirely unsympathetic, but I question the idea of agonizing over this sort of thing. He's been chosen, so it's his job as a professional to live up those expectations. But well, just leave them alone. There's nothing big brotherly about guys in their 20s having a teenage little brother worrying about them." I nod, understanding where he's coming from.
It's not like they want to talk to me.After Natsume brought me to the station to get back home, and gave me his scarf. I blush softly as I bring the scarf closer to my mouth. It smells like him.
We said goodbye and parted. I walk slowly to the residence.
I hope Lily isn't mad at me. I sweat drop. She might be, because I shoved her under my bod. I look up, surprise taking over as I see a figure sitting there.
"A-Azusa." I hope he acts normal to me again.
