Arian's pov

I feel happy seeing Lydia smiling. Especially at this time, where she is not happy with her choice of university. I'm not sure, but my gut says, she's being bullied. A lot. Wait where did rookie go? They see me looking and Nate sighs.

"She's gone. She's a little possesive. What am I going to do with her? " He ruffles his hair in defeat.

"I'll try to show her, you'll still be there for her, Nate don't worry. it will be easier since I'm going to be living with her. " Lydia soothes him.

"What?! " I don't have time for this. I want to find rookie.
"We'll talk later. " I say, but I'm already moving out the door.

"Wait ,where are you going? I don't answer. I hope I didn't lose her.

I'm in the front of the dorm, and there she is. The black jacket. She looking at buildings, comparing them I think.

Then after a few seconds she walks to the tallest building. As there is no guard, she immediately goes for the stairs. Why, when there is a perfectly working elevator?

I wait till she is a little far up, and I get into the elevator. Well sue me for being lazy.

I'm pretty sure she's going to the roof. So I press the last floor button to go up.

The elevator stops and opens, I climb the last flight of stairs to the roof. Ah, there she is sitting over the very edge, looking up at the light, shiny sky, leaning back, with the support of her hands.

Somehow, her jacket has slipped off her shoulders, showing her sleeveless, tight, white tank top. Her long, poker straight hair is flying with the picking up wind.

She's built up. I can literally see her popping veins, standing proudly on her hands, and through the back of her top. Her forming biceps already look strong.

The bandage she was wearing is gone, and she's so still.

" If you're the guard why aren't you pulling me off the ledge? " She suddenly says, making me jump.

In the blink of an eye she's standing on the edge, now. She looks suprised to see me for a second, then all her emotions are masked.

"What are you doing here? " She says. It all different now. Her voice, her posture, her face, the way she's looking at me.

There used to be a little curiosity in here eyes. Now her eyes look.. dead.

"The exact same thing you're doing. " I say, and I sit over the edge too.

"Admiring." I say with a sigh and crane my neck to see the sky. The stars are in an unusual pattern tonight.

After a minute of heavy silence, she gives up trying to be tough, and sits down. Right next to me.

Her bare shoulder is confidently brushing mine, and she doesn't even acknowledge this little thing.

Then why am I acknowledging this. I have no freaking clue. My body suddenly tenses, blood is rushing to my face, and I'm suddenly wide awake.

"Why did you come up here?"
One side up of her lips turn up, looking like no one has asked her this question before.

She says, "well, I like heights. Whenever I come up to a high place, I don't feel small to the world, anymore. Makes me believe that may be I won't be looked down on."

What? Just what was she saying? She feels small? She feels looked down on? Everybody in college respect and fear her. She's rich, gets anything she wants, then life should be fine right?

"Yeah you won't get it, honey boy. "

"What did you just call me?!" She looks up at my hair and then at me and says slowly,
"I called you honey boy, honey boy. "

I give her a flat look and say, "you suck at nicknames, rookie."

She was quick to reply, "that's makes the two of us."

"I'm Lisa and I know your name. " She says with a very small smile on her face, with her hand streched out for a handshake. The jacket sleeve has swallowed half of her palm, looking cute and hot at the same time. We shake hands and there is that silence again.

"Where do you live?" She asks me.

"Hueston and you? "

"Texas." I already knew she was from, by the accent. I heard a few seniors in our college, fanboy over her accent. Well I might just join the club.

"Are you okay? " I ask a little hesitantly.

"Yeah I'm fine, Arian. "
I almost fell off the roof. The way she says my name... I can't take that.

We're both in comfortable silence until her phone rings. She sees the name and shoves it back into her pocket without answering.

"Let's go. You're already in trouble for going out at night without informing the warden." She says jumping off her place on the ledge, and walks to the elevator. I follow her, and soon were going down.

"Why did you take the elevator? " I ask suddenly.
She does that one sided smile and says,

"So I could hear if someone was following me but you took the elevator and I could hear the doors open. "

"From the second last floor?! That's some ears you got there. "

Then I say, going completely off topic, "you fight well. "

"Thanks. I guess.. " Her voice is dripping with amusement. Like I'm a interesting person. I kind of like that.

As we separate ways, she gets on a mean looking motorcycle and I'm drooling.

She's different. As she rides away, I feel different. Like I've already become a part of her life because of this bizzare conversation. Despite the wierdness I smile to myself.
