Lisa's pov
It was Monday already.
I sigh as I sit on one of the bar like stools propped next to the kitchen island as I play with the eggs I made myself. I perk up when I see Lydia walk into the kitchen, her body slump.
"Do you want some eggs? Cause I can make you some." The reason I was extra helpful was because I knew something was wrong with her. It was something I can't put my finger on, but I figured that she definitely was sort of mad at me.
She steered clear of me the entire weekend and if she did talk to me, she sounded somewhat, standoffish and guarded or maybe I was exaggerating. She looks at me, skeptical.
"What? Why would want to make me breakfast? Did you do something wrong to me?"
I give out a small chuckle as I shrug, Her wary voice didn't go unnoticed. " It's just I'm up for making something, that's all." She shakes her head as she walks over to the fridge to grab the can of milk. She reached into the cupboards and grabs the fruit loops cereal.
"Hey, do you know where Mia lives?" Okay, that was new. Mia and the boys came back yesterday, insisting on having a movie marathon. She only even met Mia yesterday now she's asking about her? So unlike her. Then again, I maybe just overthinking..
"Oh, her?I remember her telling me that she lived in a run down place where only old married couples or runaway couples resided."
"Oh......."
"Why do you want to know though?" She jumps out from spacing out as she hears my curious question. She takes a minute of recollection as she says,
"Oh, well.......was just curious that's all." I nod as I shake off the curiosity and obvious disbelief. We both grab our bags and walk out, as we pass the driveway, to reach my bike which really needs a wash, I almost stumble into thin air, and Lydia lets out a gasp of surprise. So obviously I wasn't hallucinating or something.
Right in front of us, stood a new, absolutely stunning Red Ferrari in all it's glory. for a moment everything was quiet as we both gape at the car in front of us.
Of course nobody could have parked it here by mistake, because they would have to get past the pass code and fingerprint protected iron gate to even try to get into the driveway. I had no idea whose this was. I jump when i hear Lydia shout accusingly,
"You bought this?!! I thought you said you were in a tough spot right now!" She points a finger, scoffing and a tad bit hurt even.
"Whoa!! I obviously didn't buy this! And I am in a tough spot, I literally don't have a job!!"
"Then...what is this?" She now looks confused and uncertain, her finger now pointing hair. I start to walk towards it, In hope of finding a clue of somewhat. As I moved closer, I see the car key taped onto a note helping in keeping the light paper down. I reach and read the note. As I finish I yell frustrated, scolding into thin air.
"OH DAD!! COME ON!!"
Dear panda,
I just couldn't help myself. I, felt sorry for what happened with your mom so I got you this which you and your roommate would relish.. Just pretend you found it on the street or something..I smile slightly as I eye the car once more. As always my dad never knew how to show his love for me. So he does it this way. Material things was his way, I guess. My eyes fill a little with tears as I think about him.
"So, shall we go for a ride?" I say grinning at the keys in my hands.
"Actually, I'm going to walk. All I've been doing this weekend is sitting around anyway." She says tightly as she hands me the note back. As I stuff the note into my wallet,
