Dear Diary,

I am floating on cloud nine for real for real. Josh gave me a hug. Oh my gosh, diary it was almost better than my dad's. Here's what happened: I was at the window at about 3:35 or so watching as cute boys walked home, pulled at the girls' hair and laughed. They laughed with the girls not at them. There was a big difference between the two and I knew this from personal experience. A white ram truck pulled up and out hopped Josh and his father. My breath left me in a whoosh. Josh was so dang cute. Then, as if he felt my gaze, he slowly turned to face me and his hazel eyes pinned me to my spot. His messy blonde hair was tucked under a indigo, cotton hat. A tuff of the brown mess fell over one eye a little. His gorgeous tan skin looked luminous in the sun. He was tall and the black North Face jacket he wore emphasized his lean torso.

"Josh" his father called snapping him back to reality.

By the look that had been on his face he must have been standing there for awhile. Josh shuffled up the steps towards his father and I exhaled the breath that I hadn't known id been holding. Mom called from the living room handed me a key and ordered me outside to rake the leaves on the lawn. Coincidentally after a few minutes of peaceful raking josh too, bounded outside black contractor bags in tow. We raked in silence for a while. I tried to ignore Josh by focusing on making the largest pile of leaves I could.

"Cannonball!" I heard from behind me. I stood shocked as josh took 3 long strides and jumped into my pile of leaves. Red, Orange, Yellow, and Brown leaves flew everywhere landing in my hair, on my porch, in the driveway. I gasped as josh laughing sprung up and went back to his lawn. Just think diary, all my hard work lost, just like that!

I ran over to his pile of leaves at full speed, intending to do him exactly what he had just done to me. Halfway there, I kind of tripped on a nonexistent rock (believe me diary, it happens).Suddenly, josh was there his arms around my waist "you okay?" He said his earnest voice reminding me of melted chocolate. And, diary, I almost fainted... his body was oh-so warm... A bit woozy at the accidental hug, I wobbled a bit as I stepped out of his warm embrace. "Sorry about that" he said inclining his head toward the disaster that was my lawn. It looked impossibly even messier than before. Trying to hide the effect of his closeness, I glared at him. I probably failed considering the frazzled state of  my nerves. I squared my shoulders getting ready to tell him off for ruining my lawn. I turned and looked into the most gorgeous eyes in the whole friggin universe. Now Diary, usually I don't allow my brain to spiral into smutty thoughts about boys but this time I made an exception. Those hazel eyes of his are like gooey caramel, the thick viscous kind that you can't help but savour and it drips from your fingers. They're the type of eyes that a girl could fall into face first, head-over-heels, swimming in its delectable depths for eternity only emerging from its deep brown depths to take a healing breath of his smell. He smelled like cinnamon with a hint of forest. Like a good boy with an undercurrent of a rebel. I shook my head and gulped backing away. What was it about Josh that made me so...speech impaired, brain impaired, heck just plain disabled. "Awestruck by my hotness?" he said arrogantly, lifting an eyebrow. The faint smile I was bearing dropped. I punched him in the arm "Cockiness does not suit you." I told him. Then he fell to the ground. "Ow! Your cold indifference scars me gravelly, paired with the previous blow to my arm." He said dramatically. I rolled my eyes and handed him a rake. Just then it struck me as the perfect time to ask a question that had been burning up in me for some time now. Why did this boy always seem to stare at me? I opened my mouth to ask him just that when his pet dog Rupert came charging out of his house with his Dad yelling "Come back Rupert come back!" Rupert ran toward the cranky old lady's house. Uh oh. The woman was known for her sour disposition and the way she fiercely guarded her prize petunias. The instant Rupert's paws touched her lawn I said "Okay! I'm done! Going inside now! Bye!" I ran up my porch steps leaving the half raked lawn for Josh to clean. That old lady scared the beejezzuz out of me. I went up to my room to watch the scene unfold. The old lady swung her cane at them while telling the police that people were vandalizing her home. Shame.

I don't know what I'm going to about Lydia or mom, or my growing feelings for Josh.

Things I Totally am Confused about

1. Why does Josh stare at me so much?

2. Why did Lydia feel the need to complicate my life with social events?

3. Is my mom dating someone and if so who exactly is that someone?

4. What is it about Josh that makes my insides squish and my outsides squirm?

5. Why do I keep thinking about his cinnamon smell that had an undercurrent of forest?

6. Why do I keep having such smutty thoughts about this guy and his delicious six pack?

7. Delicious? What is happening to me?!
