Me and my boyfriend (bf/n) have been together for three years now and today is actually our third year anniversary and I was going to pick up his gift after work today. The gift I was going to pick up was an animal charm to keep him safe it was the sea otter witch was his spirit animal. I had just clocked in when I finished thinking about (bf/n) and our anniversary. My boss said hi and told me I would be by myself as Mollie would be late again, nodding in response my boss then left the building and to his meeting he goes to every month on the twentieth.

My shift started slow with a few of the regulars coming by. Soon it started to get busy and Mollie still hasn't shown up. "I'll be with you in just a moment sir." I say for the tenth time this hour as I was finishing off Brendon's coffee along with the his group of friends "Brendon and company!" I yelled out knowing that the boys know I'm talking about them.

Turning back to the door I see Chase and a new face. "Sorry about the wait guys what can I get you?"

"It's alright (y/n) I'll have my normal and can he have an iced coffee."

"Any flavor in the ice coffee sir?" I ask the new customer he doesn't answer just a blank look almost like he was broken.

"Do vanilla for him, it's been a long week for him." Chase said kind of sheepishly.

"Alright then I'll have it in a few minutes." With that they go and sit at one of the tables. I get the order of the last few people then begin making the drinks, calling the names out as I finish the drinks. After the last orders I take my phone out and message Mollie.

(Y/N)- Hey where are you? How late are you going to be? Sent 1:26

Mollie- Sorry i'm not going to be able to make it my mom is in the hospital. sent 1:27

(Y/N)- no problem just wanted to know where you were I almost got murdered today, by the flow of customers. hope your moms okay. sent 1:27

Mollie- sorry again, and thanks. Sent 1:28

Putting my phone down I see Brendon's group walking out I call out saying have a nice day. I glance around and seeing a messy lobby I grab a rag and a spray and start wiping down the tables. Just as I finish that the door chimes. "Welcome to the Fire and Ice café I'll be with you in just a moment." I say in a chipper voice, then going behind the counter and wash my hands. looking at who was there I see our shops Karen 'oh god here we go'.

"Took you long enough I would like an iced vanilla latte with whole milk and no more than ten ice cubes." she says in her annoying voice (sorry if your name is Karen if it is then change it to Rebecca)

"Yes mam that would be $4.30 please." I say in a nice voice.

"What why its normally $4, why did the price go up?"

"You see mam our prices recently went up due to the prices of the espresso beans going up."

"That doesn't make sense. Why should I have to pay extra for something that already comes in my drink?" she argues.

"You see if the places we buy our products raise their prices so do we in order to pay for the products we order so we can continue serving our customers."

"Alright fine here." she says with a huge attitude handing me cash, I give her the change and go to make her drink. I finish her drink as fast as possible, I hand it to her with a smile I go to turn around but am stopped as she yells "Wait this is not right I asked for whole milk not nonfat also there is more than ten ice cubes in here." catching the attention of the other patrons in the shop.

"I'm sorry about that mam I'll remake the drink right away" I say then begin to make the drink again this time doing most of the steps were she can see. I place the new drink in front of her this time waiting for her to try it.
