You POV:
Logan came back in a short while later, eyes bloodshot and face red. He came over to your bed and grabbed your hand and you weakly squeezed back. He leaned over and kissed your forehead as you closed your eyes. He asked if he could crawl in your bed and hold you and you agreed. You wanted to feel his arms around you one last time. You knew you didn’t have much longer. Your eyelids were becoming too heavy to keep open. He crawled up into the bed and held you. You felt so safe and secure it was getting close to the time you would have to let go. you could feel yourself slipping into a deep sleep like a coma. This must be what it’s like to be dying.
“Logan..?” you asked
“”yes?” he replied. He was crying you could feel the tears hitting your face. Your vision was getting blurry and you knew you were nearing the end.
“would you sing me a song” You said in a voice near a whisper
He then began to sing one of your favorite songs to you very softly. It was comforting to hear. When he had finished singing, Logan began to talk to you and you responded as best you could.
“no.. don’t give up on me yet! please!” he said with a quivering voice
you squeezed his hand “i’m.. sorry….I didn’t...tell you...sooner” you said between gasps for air. “I always.. mean..t.. to.. but never knew.. how…” you paused to get air into your failing lungs. “logan…”
“yes?..” he replied in a shaky voice. He placed your hand to his face and held it there.
you could feel yourself slipping away but you knew you had to tell him, you knew he needed to know.. “logan… I….I… love you” you said in a very soft voice
“I love you too” he said back
You smiled softly and then you slipped off into sleep from which you were not going to wake up from.
Logan’s POV:
I held her during her last final moments. With all her family there, I could tell she was going.. her breath was getting weaker and weaker. And I could feel her body giving up in my arms. But I wanted to talk to her to keep her with me. I know it’s silly trying to stall death but I just wanted one last moment with her. Her last words were ‘i love you’ and I said them back to her. Then I felt her slipping away from me and in a few minutes the machine went off and she was gone. The girl of my dreams, love of my life, gone.. I sat there in shock for a minute thinking it was all a dream and that she was going to wake up. But she was gone.. she was really gone! I screamed and begged her to come back but I knew it was too late. I pulled her lifeless body up against mine and held her and cried. I held her for a long time crying and begging her to come back and I kept singing to her. I never wanted to leave there but eventually my mom had to pull me away and I said goodbye to the girl I loved. The day she died, my heart died with her. I will always love her even if she is now an angel.. I love her, always have and always will
