Kaila moves back home to California from college after being gone 3 years. While adjusting to being back home, Kaila reconnects with some of her closest friends from Chino Hills High School. Her most important reconnection will be with LiAngelo Ball...
The boys were outside in the back doing whatever the fuck and I was with Treasure in the kitchen. I grab a bottle of water telling her what I had seen.
Treasure: girl that's nothing new they always doing something.
Treasure: girl I'm telling you he ain't the same no more. That nigga Gelo did a full 180.
Kaila: I see this nigga probably look the most changed out of everyone. I mean ion know tho cus that nigga Melo was ugly.
Treasure: so you gone say it or I gotta force you?
Kaila: what?
Treasure: you know....you and Gelo was feeling each other in high school and things was looking good. Then you left and you came back and that nigga went from pretty boy in High school to Full body tattoo papi chulo.
Kaila: that was 3 years ago..... and we wasn't together for real and now he gotta girl. You know how I am.
Treasure: ok bitch you can act like ion know you.
Kaila: whatever.
I grab my water and walk outside with the boys. "Aye Kaila please tell this niggas I was for sure the star at Chino" Melo says calling me over. I laugh at the fact these boys are still the same. "Bro you score 92 and think you just OD. You was nice but come on bro I'm shutting you down any day. Respect your elders" Zo says. "Come on y'all both know the real stars at chino was Treasure, Kira, and yours truly" I say busting there bubble.
By this time Gelo and his girlfriend had made it to where everyone was chilling. A couple more people started to come over and the party started. I look up and see Shakira walking in the backyard. She walks over to Melo and they kiss each other on the lips. I was so shocked my face showed it all. "Oh you didn't know" Treasure leans over and says to me. I'm guessing she knew about my sister and Melo. Made me wonder who else knew. Shakira finally walks over to me and Treasure.
Shakira: what's poppin sluts
Treasure: hey bitch
Shakira: what's going on why you looking that Kaila?
Kaila: cus you little bitch why you ain't tell me about you and Melo. I'm thinking this nigga new girl was somebody I ain't know. Not my little sister.
Shakira: well you just got back we kinda just started talking. I never got around to it.
Kaila: just started?
Shakira: yeah it's been about 6 or 7 months.
Kaila: bitch that's a minute. Y'all fucking?
Shakira: I mean I ain't getting this thick by myself.
Kaila: oh you a smart ass. Bitch you better be careful.
Shakira: don't worry mom I'm safe.
Shakira walks back off and back over to Melo.
Kaila: did you know?
Treasure: aye she begged me not to tell you.
Treasure walks off over to Dre leaving me at the table by myself. I go back inside to grab another water and a bag of chips. While I'm in the kitchen the one person I haven't spoken to all day walks in. Gelo and I look at each other before I finally decide to speak.
Kaila: aye sorry about that earlier. Hope I ain't interrupt nothing.
Gelo: nah you good. What's up with you? How you been?
Kaila: I been good LiAngelo. Just chilling, hooping, and school. The usual. What about you? Obviously you got a girl but what's up with you?
Gelo: nothing much really just been tryna get back right after my ankle so I can hoop again.
Kaila: oh you hurt your ankle?
Gelo: yeah I had to have two surgeries. But I'm close to 100%.
Kaila: damn, remind when I had some ankle problems a year ago.
Gelo: you always was tryna be like me.
Kaila: boyyy stop you crazy. You wished you was as clean as me.
Gelo and I keep laughing and taking in the kitchen for a while until his girlfriend comes in. "G there you are dude" Jaden says. I felt extremely awkward and Gelo thought this was the perfect time to introduce us to each other. The more I looked at this girl the more she looked familiar. "Hey you hoop" I ask her and she says responds with a yes. "Yeah I think I saw you at this past McDonald's All American game" I say and she confirms that she was there.
I walk back outside leaving Gelo and Jaden in the kitchen. I wasn't even gone 10 minutes and when I come back the boys were picking teams to run with.
"Aye Kaila you playing?" Zo asks me. After giving it some thought I tell him I'll play if needed. Melo and Zo start picking teams.
The teams ended up; Zo, Dre, Treasure, and myself vs. Melo, Gelo, Shakira, and Jaden.
These teams were perfect because Zo and Melo got to go at it, plus I would get to kill Shakira for talking shit earlier.
We had first ball since Melo had first pick. To start off the game Zo walked down the court and pulled up and hit a three in Melo face. On the opposite side Melo passed to Gelo and he blew by Dre for a easy layup.
The game was intense and everybody was hooping. I had the ball I my hands with Shakira guarding me. I hit her with a hesitation and a snatch back and she falls on the ground. I pull and hit the shot with my wrist still in the air. She gets up off the ground and I smile at her.
After both teams scoring buckets the score was 47-48. We were down 1 point and game was 50. Melo shot over Zo for the game but he missed and Gelo grab the rebound. I rip the ball when he tries to go back up and pass it down the court to Dre who passes it to Treasure for the game winning 3.
"Game boy!" Zo yells. "Y'all seen what I did to this young man". "Ayeee good shit Kaila!!"
Gelo walks over to me while Zo still celebrates.
"Good rip lil girl next time ima bang on yo ass tho" he says. I smile at him and respond "thanks but ima tip that shit again and again".

I get out the shower after a long day of partying and playing basketball. I put my phone down on the charger and lay down in the bed. Right before I go to bed I get a text on my phone.
