Mana

I gifted the humans to control and manipulate the elements surrounding them and to do so, they must have enough stored mana

Mana is the energy created by your spirit and is used as a catalyst to bend the laws of the world, therefore creating magic. The amount of mana that a person can store is related to their spirit or their soul. And to take care of it and to enlarge a person's mana pool, you must take care of it is by increasing your knowledge with the use of books as it is believed that the more behaved and calm your soul is, the healthier it gets. Or by using mana by casting magic repeatedly until you're all spent

The study of Humanity to Mana Manipulation

In the very beginning that humanity found their affinity in magic, they have tried to understand it by studying it in many ways that resulted in theories.

They once cast magic by chanting the spell out loud. This is the ancient times where I gave them this gift, also known as the first age of magic. This became a problem for them as it could reduce their chances of success when doing mock battles against each other. As someone with the knowledge of an ability that was chanted out loud could actually reveal its weakness

There were actually times that casters tried to chant the spell to their mind, but the outcome of the magic is less powerful. There are theories that it was affected by nature and that casting a spell out loud attracts nearby spirits.

In the next era, the casters chant their spell to their mind to avoid being counterattacked. As expected, magic is weaker when chanted in your head. They have studied it again and again, but in the end, they reverted to their previous ways of casting magic and it is to chant the spell out loud

After hundreds of years, humanity created a language and handwriting that interests me the most, and that is the study of runes. Powerful and gifted mages created this language and they improved it every year and passing them to the new era. And soon, they have created magic circles called magic seals or runic circles

Magic circles are done by carving it out of thin air with the use of your mana. You can do this by imagining the circle and assuming that it was in front of you. After a second, the magic circle will become real and appear in front of you.

They have found out that using magic circles while chanting and casting magic greatly improves its duration and power.

Since then, in order to use magic to its full potential is to create a magic circle and to chant the magic out loud

Answering the Theories

Now here is the answer to their theories. Mana is the energy created by your spirit or soul, and by casting magic, mana is burned and released outside of your body. The mana that left someone's body scatters to the air and therefore absorbed by nature.

When a mage cast magic and chant it out loud, the magic that was absorbed by nature will then surround the caster, giving the magic more power

The next one is the magic circles. Think of magic circles like magnets, massive magnets that attract the mana that was absorbed by nature, boosting the magic

Types of Magic Circles/Runic Circles

There are currently 3 types. The normal runic circle, the clockwork circle, and the stellar circle

The normal runic circle is composed of runic alphabets that were compressed and surrounded the circle. There are illustrations inside of the circle as well and it varies to the elemental affinity of the user. This particular magic circle does not provide any defense and can be shattered easily. When the runic circle breaks, the spell you are chanting resets. L

The second type is the clockwork circle or gear circles. Clockwork circles are actually runic circles with a set of toothed wheel illustrations to the center or to the side of the circle, spinning and gaining limited speed. The clockwork circle is like the evolution of the normal magic circle as the gears represent a mechanism or unison. It is said that the clockwork circle represents the union of the user's spirit and physical form. This shield provides a small defense to the user in which this magic circle can block arrow projectiles and does not break easily

And lastly is the stellar circle or star circle. It is a rare kind of magic circle that has the illustration of the sun or moon at the center or placed in another ring layer of the magic circle. Stellar circles are known to be much powerful as its power is influenced by the markings illustrated inside. If the circle has an illustration of the sun or the Sol mark, it will increase the damage and effectiveness of the ability. If the circle has an illustration of the crescent moon or the Lunar mark, the cooldown of the ability is greatly decreased

This magic circle are the toughest ones and has the least chance of breaking

The Sol mark only appears at day, and the Lunar mark only appears at night. There are also small chances that the Sol and the Lunar marks appear at once, applying the effects of damage increase, ability effectiveness, and cooldown reduction. It is called the mark of the Observer

Mana Deficiency

Using mana and reducing it to a certain limit could actually increase the capacity of your mana pool/ your overall mana storage. But frequent forcing yourself to your limit could actually damage your spirit and your body

When your mana is reduced to a very dangerous level, your body will start to change as a reaction. Your skin becomes pale and your body becomes very tired. If your mana is spent, the only way to cast your own abilities is by sacrificing your own blood. And doing that could make permanent damage to your body or even result in your death
