izuku walked down the narrow sidewalk. he watched the glory of flashing billboard signs and noisy unknowns. it was all so new and izuku loved it.

it was so different from his small town. everything there was set in stone and a routine. having the different people and cultures swirling around him made him feel inspired.

he was so small in the huge city around him.

it was beautiful to him but even with everything going on around him, he still had one person in his mind.

he walked past mini markets to designer stores until he finally made it to the quaint coffee shop that was almost unknown for its size.

it was bland looking. a large flush of ivy hugged the pale bricks.

izuku opened the large oak door. a ring came from above.
izuku smiled. it felt like a slice of home.

he looked around. it was something right off a tumblr page. he loved it. he felt like he was living up the city life, even if he stuck out like a sore thumb.

he walked up to the counter with a grin. he looked at all of the options to choose from. they were stocked from lattes to masala chai.

a man with purple hair walked up to the counter. he stared at the greenette with a bored face.

"what will it be?"

"uh, there's a lot to choose from," izuku scratched his neck nervously.

"what you're favorite? any recommendations?" he looked to the man kindly.

the man behind the counter took a double take. the man in front of him was absolutely gorgeous. and not to mention the awkward and kind type. maybe he could talk this greenette into giving him his number.

and again. the purple-haired man just stared at izuku. inspecting him and then finally making his decision.

"not from around here are you?"

"that obvious?" izuku laughed.

"not at all," he joked.

"I prefer a black coffee but you aren't the type for that are you?" he rose an eyebrow.

the smaller man shook his head with a grin.

"then how about an iced coffee or my number?" the man said nonchalantly.

"wha-!"

"shinsou, I don't pay you to flirt with customers," a voice said warningly from the back.

the man and izuku locked eyes and then look away nervously.

izuku cleared his throat plainly and looked back at the man.

"um, an iced lemon coffee," he breathed out rushed.

"what?" the man asked confused.

"oh um, can I have an iced lemon coffee please," he said, shuffling his feet. he felt the tips of his ears going slightly red from embarrassment.

he had never really had someone so outwardly flirt with him before. considering he was with katsuki most of his life he didn't know much else.

but not like he courted izuku properly either. he'd post a brag about izuku being all his online then throw him aside for the first man or woman katsuki saw at the party of the night.

izuku had always been made to take a back seat in the blonde's life.

"ah, so that's a no to the number?" the man asked with a lazy smirk.

"i-im not that easy, s-sir," izuku muttered.

"yea, yea. a berry pastry you asked for," he handed izuku the bag. he grinned at the confused look on the other's face.

"sorry sir, I didn't order-," he said handing him the two dollars and forty-nine cents he owed.

"it's shinsou. and it's on the house," he added a wink. they locked eyes for a minute more before the bell to the door rang.

izuku glanced over his shoulder to see two elderly women coming in. they ordered and then went to sit down. izuku almost tripped over himself to get to the couple. he pulled their chairs out smiling then pushed them in.

"aww thank you, young man," the shorter woman smiled. her wrinkles cover most of her eyes.

"no problem mam," he went to go back to the bar before he could, and the woman with large hair grabbed his shirt.

"here, take some gummies. now don't eat them all together," she warned, adding a half a smile.

"awe, thank you," he said kindly.

he stands and started walking toward the counter, not realizing that the purple-haired man was staring in awe.

"is there something on my face?" izuku asks, tapping his face in different places.

"no, I just. c-can I have your number? like being completely serious," the man ushed out his words, acting as if they were to just disappear without him saying them.

izuku froze for a minute before melting into a blushing mess.

"i- uh."

"say yes, young man. I'm here quite often and I can tell you he is as nice as they come," the lady from before croaked out.

the man hands him his coffee nervously.

shinsou was confused. he's never nervous with people.

the green-haired man awkwardly grabs the pen and pencil from the man's shirt, not realizing how flirty that was.

shinsou proceeds to turn fifty shades of red.

izuku wrote down his name and number, then scribbled a little bunny near the words, 'call me!'. he sets the notebook down and smile nervously before working out the door.

shinsou looked down smiling at the note. and then he looked at the coffee the greenette left.

"go bring it to him. he couldn't have gone far, ill watch the place. now go, go, go!" the lady yelps.

shinsou grabs the coffee sending a half salute to her. he ran out the door, hearing the bell behind him. he looked both right and left before seeing a fluff of green hair walk past the building, out of sight.

he ran down the street to him. he sees him get in line for the bus.

before he can get on he's gripping izuku's arm, spinning him around.

"eeek!"

"s-s-sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. you j-just left you coffee," shinsou said, letting his head fall in shame and his arms out to izuku.

"It's okay! just scared me a bit. but th-ank you," he said giggling.

"come on kid! I don't have all day!" the bus driver yelled.

"I should let y-you get in."

"yes. thanks again, goodbye shinsou," he smiled and he was gone.
