Allen stared at my butt the entire walk to the stables. I was feeling horrible for touch her arm and hurting her, on top of that I ended up waking up through the night. Allen didn't look like she had slept either. She seemed to be walking a little oddly, but it didn't seem to bother her much. Sometimes she tripped and insisted we didn't help her get up. Alex silently thanked me when I kept whispering resurgemus and slowly picking her up anyway.

Allen just kept grinning the entire walk, and as we got closer to the stables the horses started spooking. I stopped and laughed nervously. “They smell the predator.” the kid named Alex said.

“Yep. I'm not going to be able to get any closer without something or someone getting hurt. Alex, can you handle the bags?” I asked eyeing his small frame. He possibly could depending on his breed.

“If I couldn't I'd humiliate the night walker race. Stay here and don't touch Allen's right side.” he said rolling his eyes at me. I raised my hands. I learned from last time. Allen looked at me and tilted her head.

“What is it?” I asked and she imitated a howl. “Oh, you want me to howl?” she tipped her hand from side to side. “Shift?”  I tried and she nodded. I thought for a second. “Can you walk about a Hundred paces that way?” I said pointing back the way we had come. Allen nodded and gestured for me to go first. I walked over and watched her from the corner of my eye. We stopped and I offered my hand.

“You should sit down for a few. You're starting to look a little pale.” she nodded and gripped my arm with a loose grip. I looked at him worried I had tired him out. He hissed through his teeth and I checked where my hands were. “Hey, I'm going to cast some magic and set you down.” getting no response I cast. “Supernatet!” I set him down slowly and looked back to see Axel dropping the saddle bags and bolting with speed damn near lightning fast. Night Walkers had incredible speed. His claws tore into my neck and he pinned me to the ground. Ezekiel growled.

‘Shut up unless you want us to both get killed.’ I hissed at him and slowly moved my hands palms up. “Alex, hear me out. She's hurting and was pale so I set her on the ground with magic.” Alex narrowed his eyes and hissed similar to a cobra.

“Why should I trust your word? You came here in the middle of the night, you look rogue, especially with the sleepless black circles, you won't even give us a name.” He hissed tightening his claws around my neck. One wrong answer, or an answer he didn't like, and I was dead.

“You want a name right?” I said and Ezekiel growled.

‘What do you think your doing?! You're going to get us killed!’ Ezekiel hissed and I shoved him back.

“My name is Kai. I was thrown off my territory when it was invaded.” I said calmly. Alex didn't move.

“What pack.” He demanded and my breath hitched.

“Et unum omnes. My father was killed.” Shock showed and he loosened his grip a little. My crown decided to return to my head. “Psh, now you follow my command.” I mumbled mentally smacking myself.

“Prince Kai?” I froze hearing a familiar voice. I looked for the scent of cinnamon and spice. Ezekiel making it much easier to detect.

“Dustin!” I called holding my place in fear of my windpipe.

“You're alive! We were told you and your father were killed! Sago… Sago was hung and quartered. He swore you were going to take back Rise before...” My heart fell to pieces again. I let the tears build in my eyes before taking a deep breath, wary of Alex's claws. “Alex get the fuck off him.” Dustin commanded and Alex let go and got up. He kept his fangs and claws out.
