A Proposition

Her grip tightened on his muscular neck and by now a lesser man would have started choking and begging for his life. But not him. He smiled.

No, he smirked.

He dared smirk at her!
She, the Queen of the Dark!
Oh, she would wipe away that smirk alright.

She wrapped a ghost hand around his heart and started slowly squeezing. Giving him the worst pain of them all.

"Oh, My beautiful Queen Athena. This is merely foreplay for me."

"Let's skip this bullshit, shall we? We both know sweet talk has never been my forte. What are you doing here?"

She freed him of her grip and took a step back.
Her eyes set on him, ready to intervene as soon as danger arose. With King Alec you never knew what to expect.

Gods, but he was handsome.
He was not dressed like all the men she had seen up until now in their perfect suits.

His pants were thorn and dirty and his t-shirt had gone from white to dust gray. His dark hair was kept short to the sides and a little longer on the front, but it was so disheveled that it looked like he had just come out of a fight.
His intense blue eyes were staring right back at her as his full lips curled up in a grin, showing a set of perfectly straight and white teeth.

"Always so impatience, my little Queen. During all these centuries you still haven't learned.." King Alec took a step towards her, shortening their distance as he bent his head down. He easily towered over her.

As a queen she did not back down. She very well knew his antics and was not impressed.
Their noses were touching as they still kept the eye contact. In a sick way it was a challenge, and she would not show any weakness to this man.

"King Alec. I have reasons to believe you were the one behind the attack on my soldiers and I'm being very merciful by giving you a chance to explain yourself. Speak now or regret it later. And I promise, you will regret it."

Athena spoke calmly but her clenched fists were everything but. A side of her hoped he would just stay silent and give her the reason to go at him.

But King Alec was everything but stupid. He probably felt her readiness to pounce on him seeping from her pores and decided against it.

"Very well. It seems you are in a foul mood today, my Queen." He sighed all the while turning around, facing her big window and giving her a nice view of his perfectly toned legs and firm ass.
The man was an eye candy and she wasn't shy to admit that. She would happily take him to her bed.
Once.
And that would be all.

What was it that humans said in this case? - Elly had tried to teach her the modern ways. - Oh, yes.

No strings attached.

"My people tell me you are actively searching for a King to warm your bed. Is that correct?"
His face turned towards her, strong tan arms crossed in front of his sturdy chest. He was studying her with his gaze, starting from her small but plump lips, to the way her silver hair cascaded down her small waist.
From her full chest to her curvy hips and down to her toned legs.

By blood she was the descendant of gods, she knew her DNA was designed to mesmerize people and she knew she wasn't average looking.

She was not very tall, barely 5'6'' but her perfect proportions all but made up for it. Her skin was pale but glowing, her cheeks always slighlty flushed and her lips always rosy, as if she had been kissed for hours.
But what her mother had always warned her about were her eyes.

"Those amethyst eyes will bring kingdoms to their knees, my dear daughter" she had said it with such an intensity that Athena almost feared it had been some kind of premonition.

One she did not want to see happening.

"Why, yes it is. I find that after centuries of reigning alone, I could use someone by my side to ease my burdens. Don't tell me that your Royal Highness the King of Light has come to court me?" She mused, clicking her heels towards the sitting area of her chambers and gently placing herself in one of the armchairs. She gestured at the one in front of her and crossed her legs, waiting for him to make himself comfortable.

" As a matter of fact yes, I am. But I come with a proposition."

Her brow arched.
Now, that was intriguing.

Alec the King of Light would have never come in the enemy territory talking propositions. Sure, they weren't warring, but they were far from being allies. Between them there was a silent truce of 'you don't attack me, I don't attack you. You attack me, I fucking start a war'. Wow, Elly was starting to rub on her. To be fair, Athena had always been a fast learner.
They both considered the life of their people too important, and in a battle between their two reigns there would be a bloodbath to be optimistic. Too tragic to consider the win a real win with so many deaths on the kingdom's shoulders. It would not be worth it.

"You must be aware of the fact that you attacking my soldiers breaks the truce we have between us and you come here with propositions?" Her grip on her armrests tightened to the point that the wood snapped under her hands and splinters broke through her skin.

He remained unfazed by her tantrum and waved his hand dismissively.

" I very kindly asked entrance at the gates but your soldiers wouldn't let me in. So I chose the easiest way. I merely subdued them to an easy nap. I have not hurt them and neither would I want to. I care a lot about our silent truce, Queen Athena." As he talked, her hands had already healed and she had repaired the armrests with her magic.

According to what King Alec was not saying, he must have felt pretty desperate to 'attack' her people just to meet her for a proposition. He had never been so careless or rush. Almost risking a war as he forced his entrance in her palace just to meet her was just not his way of acting. Something was not adding up and Athena wanted to find out just what your Highness was omitting.

"So what is your proposition, King Alec? Be ware, I have heard many propositions during the last days. I may or may not have grown bored of them, so make it interesting otherwise you can walk yourself out. You know the way."

"Ah, Athena, My dear Queen. Always so straight forward." he chuckled as he bent back, raising his arms behind his back as he did so.

Athena resisted the urge to lick her lips. He was her enemy but he was a fine man nonethells.

"I found myself in your situation. My alliances are straining as I reject hundreds of proposals of marriage. It is time that I find a Queen to stand by my side. We two have the biggest, strongest and greatest kingdoms on Earth and I must admit it is not the first time that I think about an alliance with you. But we never trusted each other and a simple alliance would not be enough. So what better way to secure it than with marriage? The two biggest kingdoms merged into one. It would be something terrific. Nobody would dare do anything against us. Therefore, our people would finally be able to feel peace and safety with no harm coming their way anytime soon. This is my proposition, My Queen. I offer you and your people safety and peace. I offer you to be my Queen as we reign on the biggest and strongest Kingdom ever existed."

"Very good speech your Majesty.." The Queen stood up and walked towards him.
She bent down as one of her hands rose to tilt his chin up. "You could have fooled me with all those nice words. But if you want to merge our people you will have to give me more than that. After hundreds of years of reigning you should know the Queen of Dark is not an easy catch. What is it that you're hiding King Alec? You don't need my alliance to protect your territories. That is not the main reason you come into my palace, risk my wrath by attacking-"

"I did not-" "Shhh" she shushed him with a finger on his warm lips. "-my people, come into my chambers and claim that that was not a declaration of war. There is something bigger. There is something troubling you. I can sense it, I can see it in your eyes. And you think I can help you with it. But my help does not come without costs, so you chose the easiest way to get it. By marrying me you solve both our problems without so much as lifting a finger. Very well played, my King. If I had been a lesser woman I would have surely fallen for your sweet words." She found herself enthralled with his blue eyes as her thumb run across the King's lips. With the corners of her eyes she detected his arms reaching up to her and she quickly took a step back.

Mmm, it would be fun seducing this man.
