If I Was Eve

If I was Eve,
I would be grateful-
At least that's what I say now.
I'd have a man,
A man all to myself-
And I'd be the only woman in the world.

If I was Eve,
I would be thankful.
At least that's what I think now;
I'd live in a beautiful garden,
And my only job would be to tend to it,
And the animals I'd care for.

If I was Eve,
I would be delightful;
At least that's what I say now.
I would have an abundance of food to eat
all around me, fruit and meat devine.

If I was Eve,
I'd have it easy.
At least that's what I think now.
With only one rule,
I'd feel free.

But if I was Eve,
I'd still sin.
I'd still be human,
I'd still make mistakes.
I'd eat that juicy apple
From the forbidden tree,
Maybe more than once.

If I was Eve,
I'd be guilty.
I'd be punished.
I would be ashamed.
But God would still forgive.

God will still love.
