A few weeks later, I woke up to the ringing of my phone around ten in the morning. I rolled over in my bed, stretching my arm for my phone that sat on my nightstand. My eyes still closed, I just barely reached it, my fingers fumbling. I yawned and answered the call.
"Hello?"
Drew was on the other line, "hi, Kate."
I opened my eyes and furrowed my eyebrows, "hey, Drew. What's up?"
"Our fans really liked the video you were in a few weeks ago. We would all really like to see you again, and our producers think it's a good idea to bring you back on our channel. Are you available to shoot a video today?"
I shot up, immediately awake, "yeah. I would love to come back on."
"Okay, great. Could you be here around noon?"
"Yeah. No problem." I did my best to hold back the excitement in my voice.
"See you soon."
"Yep." I hung up.
I couldn't wait to see the cast again. They were all so nice to me. I was also really happy that the video I was in did well. It was all so surreal. I never thought I would make it this far on YouTube. It was a little overwhelming. Then, I remembered Ian. I hadn't seen him for weeks, not that I necessarily even expected to ever see him again. He was just one of those people that you meet where you can immediately tell that they're going to change your life. He just had that quality about him. At least for me he did.
I only had a couple hours to get ready and drive there. It didn't usually take me a long time to get ready because I only really wore make-up if I was going to a formal event, which this wasn't. I really needed a shower, though, so that's what I did first. After that, I blow dried my hair because I couldn't stand putting on clothes other than a robe when my hair was wet. I dressed myself in a long blue graphic tee, which I tucked in to black straight-leg jeans, and wore blue converse. I left soon after I got ready because I knew if I waited any longer I would end up being late, and I didn't want to be known as someone who was late, even if it might sometimes be true.
When I got to the building, I looked for someone from the cast to tell me where to go. I found Reese pretty quickly. She greeted me with a hug.
"Hey, Reese, do you know where I'm supposed to go?"
"Yeah, you can just wait in that room over there," she pointed to the left. "I'm just gonna find the rest of the cast and we'll be in in a couple minutes."
"Okay," I walked into the room she directed me to.
The room was literally right next to where she was, so I guess I chose the right path. I looked around the room with the many odd decorations and games on the shelves. I had seen the cast in this room in many of their YouTube videos. I felt like I stepped into an alternate universe through my phone, but this was really real.
"Reese, I think we're one short for the charades video," I heard Ian say outside of the room I was sitting in. "Could you get Liv to fill the spot?"
"Oh, actually, we filled it with a guest."
"Oh, okay. Who?"
"Remember Kate Campbell from the gameshow a few weeks ago?"
"Uh, yeah," he paused for a moment, "why didn't you tell me?"
"I figured you'd be fine with it. I thought you liked her."
"No, I don't like her," he blurted out.
At this point, I was pretty uncomfortable and sure that they had no idea I could hear their conversation.
