Otaku City: Black Light District

Day 3 {Answers}

The time had finally come. The group was ready to leave to Black Light District, they just had one problem on their hands. "How are we going to get there exactly?" Jessie asks "We don't have a car and it's way too far to walk". Hisoka jumps in "Don't worry" he says "I got a friend of mine to drive us there, he should be here at any moment".

DING DONG

Taiyou walks up to the door and opens it. Hisoka happily walks up to see his old friend. "Good evening, Master Kaitou" Esteban says "It's been a while". The group get into Esteban's car and he drives them to Black Light District. "So how did you convince Father to let you go" Hisoka asks, "I didn't" Esteban replies "I told the master I would be collecting groceries. I better hurry up with this job before the vanilla bean ice cream in the back melts". Taiyou leans towards Esteban "So... I've been told that you make pretty good burgers". "Pretty good!?" Esteban exclaims, he turns to Hisoka "How dare you insult quality of my burgers" he says jokingly. Esteban pulls the car into the driveway, everyone exits the car and heads toward the elevator. Hisoka and Esteban stay back at the car "Hey, thanks for helping us out" Hisoka says to Esteban, "Anytime" he replies. "But. What if father finds out what you did" Hisoka asks worryingly, Esteban turns and looks at the sky "I don't really care if I get fired anymore. My sister had fully recovered from her sickness recently and I plan on using the money I've accumulated over the years to go travelling with her". Hisoka smiles "Yeah, that sound nice" gives Esteban a hug, Esteban hugs him back. "Don't get into too much trouble" Esteban says "Stay safe".

The elevator doors open to see the whole Black Light District. The group head towards Marvellous' building, but Jessie taps on Taiyou's shoulder. Jessie had taken the time to explain to Taiyou the night before about her problem, she asked Taiyou to help her in her search for Glen. "Is something wrong?" Dylan asked the two of them, "Yeah" Jessie replies "Me and Taiyou are gonna split off for a while...". Taiyou intervenes "No.", Jessie is confused "I'm sorry, but you're going to have to do this on your own" he says. Jessie is very confused, this wasn't what they discussed the night before. Taiyou turns to Jessie "Trust me, you'll be fine. You can do this" Jessie nods. The rest of the group head for Marvellous's building while Jessie headed off to look for the boy or anyone else who knew where Glen was.

Jessie headed to where all of the shops were. She took her phone out and got a picture of Glen and asked everyone if they knew where she was. Many people either didn't know who she was or knew who she was but didn't know her much about her. Jessie started to lose hope of finding her. Even though Black Light District was underground and confined, it was a very large area and it was very hard to find Glen. Suddenly, she felt someone tap on her from behind, it was the small boy she met before the group left Black Light District. "You're trying to find Udagawa Onee-chan, aren't you?" The boy says. "Yes!" Jessie says "Can you take me to her?". The boy points to a nearby antique repair shop "Her family works at that shop over there". Jessie walks into the store to see an old lady sitting at the reception desk "Hello young lady, can I help you?". Jessie pulls out her phone and shows a photo of herself and Glen "I'm trying to find a friend of mine" she says nervously. "Oh, you're a friend of Glen's" the old lady replies "I didn't know that she had friends that live in Black Light District. Well, she's upstairs first room to the right", Jessie gives a faint smile "Thank you".

Jessie walks up to the door. She pulls her hand up to knock on the door, but hesitates. Hundreds of thoughts pop into her head during this moment "Will I ruin our relationship by doing this?" "Will she hate me for knowing the truth about her?". "No!, this is stupid" she thinks to herself "I've done so many dangerous things already, this should be nothing". Jessie knocks on the door, "Who is it?" Glen says. Jessie takes a deep breath and opens the door. Inside the room she's scented candles spread a desk and Glen sitting on her bed looking out the window. Glen turns her head to see Jessie standing there. Suddenly, a sense of panic struck Glen "J-Jessie?!?" She says in a confused tone. Jessie looks at Glen, Glen does the same. Neither of them know what to say, the silence is deafening. "I..." Glen starts tearing up "I'm sorry I didn't tell you." She says chokingly "I'm sorry I lied to you..." Glen starts bursting into tears. Jessie silently walks up to Glen, without any warning, places her arms around Glen and hugs her. Glen is confused she looks up to see Jessie to see that she was crying as well "It's okay..." Jessie says "I lied to you too, I never told you what I was". In that moment, the two of them stared at each other and moved in closer together.

Some moments past for them to calm down. They start sharing some information, starting with Glen. "So, are you a witch?" Glen asks. Jessie thinks about how to answer her question "No, I'm actually... kind of... a witch hunter." She replies, "Oh..." Glens starts to feel worried, "Nonono only like... evil witches" Jessie quickly adds. Glen feels reassured by this response. "I don't know if you've heard about me" Jessie continues "Shindame?", Glen is surprised "You're that sniper girl on the internet?!. You're part of that group that took down Akita Crimson", Jessie starts to smile "Yup, that's me". Jessie thinks about what to ask Glen "So... what kind of witch power do you have?" She asks awkwardly. Glen smiles "Check this out", Glen points to the table with the scented candles. With a snap of her fingers, all of the candles on the table lit up. "WOAH" Jessie screams enthusiastically. Glen turns back to Jessie "Pyrokinesis. I have the ability to create and manipulate fire and combustion" Glen explains "I'm basically a female Roy Mustang". Jessie is surprised by this power she doesn't know what to say. "I hope this doesn't change our relationship" Glen adds. Jessie looks back to her "Not at all, you're still the most important person in my life". The two of them come together to share a tender kiss. Jessie now felt reassured that there were no secrets between her and her partner. Taiyou started to speak to Jessie through her comm,
T- Jessie have you gotten everything sorted?
J- Yeah, everything's good now
T- Great. We need you back now, we've discovered something
J- I'll be right there.
Jessie turns back to Glen "I'm sorry, I've gotta get back to work" she says. Glen smiles "It's okay. What's your work again?". Jessie smiles "I'm part of a group of weird people trying to hunt down DragonFruit members" Jessie then runs toward Glens open window and dives through it. Glen watches as Jessie does this "You really could've just taken the stairs...".

Jessie finally catches up with the rest of the group "So, what did I miss?". Dylan walks in with a layout of the entire district "Marvellous had the entire district searched and we managed to find one DragonFruit member that we are particularly familiar with" Dylan pulls out a photo that was taken on the rooftop "Millow Daniel, or as we know him, Kiragami Levi". "So what are we doing?" Hisoka asks, "Were going to go on a frontal assault and hopefully take him down" Dylan replies "Until then, we're going back home to prepare". The entire group agrees and begins to head out. Hisoka however is stopped by Dylan "There's something else" he says. Dylan pulls out another photograph of someone, a person that was very important to Hisoka. The photograph was of Mokuro Kairi, Hisoka's twin sister that was separated from him as kids.
